Hi cBioPortal team,

I hope you're doing well. I'm reaching out to ask about downloading the mutations table from your platform using the API.

I've been exploring the interface and noticed the handy download button next to the table, but I'd like to automate this process and retrieve the mutations table through your API.

I've gone through your documentation, but I couldn't find an endpoint for downloading the mutations table specifically. Could you please help me identify the right endpoint or method to access this data via the API?

I'd really appreciate any guidance, documentation, or code snippets you can provide on accessing and downloading the mutations table through the API.

Thanks for your help, and I'm looking forward to your response.

Best regards,

Carlos

Hi Carlos,

We have two API definitions default and Internal.

In the default, we have the following API end points for Mutations.

In the internal we have the below API end point for mutations. However this is not recommended to be used by public users as it is an internal API.

We recommend to get the information from data_mutations.txt, e.g. in this study. FYI, you can also download this data in the menu of this table.

Hope this helps.
