kubernetes portal.properties,tomcat & session services.

Having issues running docker on RHEL 8 and 9, so we went with a Kubernetes install.  This is our first venture into Kubernetes.

We now have a local image of cbioportal running using the latest dump from MSK.

Looking for documentation on:

1.  How to create/use the portal.properties file?

2.  How do I set tomcat settings?

3.  How do I set-up session-services? If it matters, we do plan on using keycloak for authentication purposes

Hi John,

We are using a public github repository to keep our Kubernetes deployment files, I will put some links and suggestions below:

1. How to create/use the portal.properties file?

You don't need a portal.properties file, you can refer to our deployment file to see how to configure it using k8s configuration file.

2.  How do I set tomcat settings?

You can set your custom tomcat settings in the deployment file too, here is another deployment file for your reference

3.  How do I set-up session-services? If it matters, we do plan on using keycloak for authentication purposes

Session-service is necessary for cbioportal, you can see our production session service deployment file here

Keycloak is also available for cbioportal: keycloak documentation
