Community Call: GSoC 2026 Midway Presentations

Hi everyone,

We'd like to invite you to our upcoming community call featuring midway project updates from this year's Google Summer of Code (GSoC) contributors.

During this session, we will hear midway progress updates from four ongoing GSoC projects:

  • Enhance 3D Protein Structure Viewer in cBioPortal using AlphaFold Data — Yichuan Zhang
  • MCP Apps: Interactive Genomic Visualisations for AI Clients — Luke Devlin
  • Enhance Similarity Maps (Embeddings) Visualization — Leslie Ejeh
  • Automated Clinical Metadata Harmonization Dashboard — Ahmed Osama

Each presentation will be followed by an open discussion where the community can ask questions and provide feedback.

This is a great opportunity to see the ongoing GSoC work in cBioPortal and provide feedback while there's still time for contributors to incorporate it before the final evaluation.
