We are very excited to announce that the cBioPortal is now available
on GitHub as an open source project under Affero GPL V3.

https://github.com/cBioPortal/cbioportal

By going open source, we hope to make the source code of cBioPortal
available to the large cancer genomics community. We intend to build
an active development community of researchers and engineers to be
involved in the development of cBioPortal as an open software
framework for cancer genomics.

We also hope that this will ease the process of installing local
cBioPortal instances to host your own data. Please find documentation
about setting up cBioPortal here.
