Hello,

I am attempting to install the CBIG repository on a Rocky Linux 8 workstation. I receive several warnings that the Freesurfer, MATLAB, FSL, Workbench, and AFNI versions installed are much newer than the versions recommended by CBIG and to switch to the older versions (see attached screenshot).

Is it possible to run the CBIG repository using recent versions of Freesurfer, MATLAB, FSL, Workbench, and AFNI?

Thanks,
Eddie

Hi Edward,

You can try to run with higher versions first. However, we did not test our code on higher versions. These external packages might change their function usage in higher versions and cause some compatibility problems. If you encounter any issues, you can downgrade to our recommended versions.

Best Regards,
XUE Aihuiping

Hi Aihuiping,

We may create a virtual machine to run this software. Which Linux distribution and version do you recommend we use (e.g. CentOS 7)?

Thanks,
Eddie

Hi Edward,

I don't think a different OS will be a big problem. But for your reference, here is our current OS information:

NAME="CentOS Linux"
VERSION="7 (Core)"
ID="centos"
ID_LIKE="rhel fedora"
VERSION_ID="7"
PRETTY_NAME="CentOS Linux 7 (Core)"
ANSI_COLOR="0;31"
CPE_NAME="cpe:/o:centos:centos:7"
HOME_URL="https://www.centos.org/"
BUG_REPORT_URL="https://bugs.centos.org/"

CENTOS_MANTISBT_PROJECT="CentOS-7"
CENTOS_MANTISBT_PROJECT_VERSION="7"
REDHAT_SUPPORT_PRODUCT="centos"
REDHAT_SUPPORT_PRODUCT_VERSION="7"

Hope it helps.

Best Regards,
XUE Aihuiping
