Friends & Neighbors,

In true Jews’ Next Dor fashion, we’ve got a lot going on, from Meet & Greet to mitzvahs, High Holy Days and much more. Many of our upcoming activities have actions, which we’ll highlight here, that we’d like you to take in advance. To RSVP, for clarification, or more details please email us at JewsN...@beth-david.org.

Join us tonight for our regularly scheduled Meet & Greet at Merit Vegetarian http://wp.me/p3HcM-NJ in Sunnyvale. Meet & Greets take place on the 2nd Wednesday of the month. Please note the October Meet & Greet will be the 1st Wednesday of the month, October 5th, because Sukkot starts the following week. We’ll return to our regular schedule in November.

Last call to register at the discounted price of $12 for Tzedek with a Twist tomorrow night, September 15 at the Tied House in Mountain View. You must register today at http://rac.org/southbay, otherwise it goes up to $15 at the door.  The cost includes your first drink and delicious hors d'oeuvres.

Monday night, September 19, join us in the mitzvah of putting together Rosh HaShanah packages http://wp.me/p3HcM-PM for distribution by Jewish Family Services.

The next day, September 20, is the deadline to submit your recipe(s) for our Apples & Honey Cook-off. For full rules visit http://wp.me/p3HcM-MZ. Even if you’re not entering you’re an important part of this event -- a judge. RSVP to be sure you get the Cupertino address. Cook-off is on September 25th at 5pm.

Our fourth Friday of the month Shabbat Potluck http://wp.me/p3HcM-O1 is heading north this month to Daly City, RSVP for the address. Email us or leave a message on the Facebook wall if you’re interested in carpooling (let us know from where). We’ll do our best to connect as many people as possible with a carpool. We look forward to enjoying your dairy/vegetarian dish as we welcome in Shabbat together.

We’ll end the month attending High Holy Day services at Congregation Beth David.  If you haven’t registered for your free admittance, please take a moment to do so. You’ll find service times and the registration link at http://wp.me/p3HcM-Ne. Some of our young adults will be participating or leading parts of the services.

On October 9th, join us for a 5k walk near the arena in San Jose as part of the American Diabetes Association’s (ADA) Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes. Please register online http://main.diabetes.org/goto/jewsnextdor in advance for our team - joining our team is free. While it’s not required, we’d love if each of our walkers donated $18 (Chai/Life) to their participation. Any walker raising $100 gets a free shirt from ADA. All donations to any of our walkers are greatly appreciated http://main.diabetes.org/goto/jewsnextdor.

Plan to join us on Monday, October 17, http://wp.me/p3HcM-Pt to eat and drink under the stars as we give thanks to the many volunteers that make Jews' Next Dor the fantastic organization it is today. Jews' Next Dor would not be possible without the ongoing dedication of our many coordinators. We’ll be providing a free dinner to be enjoyed in the Sukkah. It’s also the kick-off of our Holiday Toy Drive.  Please bring a new, unwrapped toy for ages 0-17 that Jewish Family Services will distribute. Look for details on our December 6th toy wrapping party in the coming months. You can bring toys to any of our events between Hanging in the Hut and Toy Wrapping Party, or drop them off at Congregation Beth David after October 17.

We know this is a lot to digest, so please don’t hesitate to contact us at JewsN...@beth-david.org.

Shana Tova, (Happy New Year)
