Pacific Motorway Transit Project

CM today tells us that the motorway upgrade project to take busway quality
service down to Daisy Hill is to be compromised by cost-cutting due to the
tenders being too high.

One of the 'gains' negotiated during the consultations was treating the
bikeway as a bike freeway, no intersections, no road crossings, on the whole
upgrade project, which goes well beyond Daisy Hill to the Logan River
bridge, two more stages I think, beyond the one being financed by the Rudd
'shovel ready' stimulus funding.

My expectation is that the bits of the project to go will be the bikeway and
especially its freeway aspect.

The CBDBUG and Logan BUG should both write to the Minister for clarification
of the position.
