[bikeqld] RNA Showgrounds missing link! (fwd)

The RNA redevelopment is on the move. We've previously talked about
getting connectivity through from Bowen Park to the ICB land bridge, and
the announcement below does hint at that. Something for us to follow up?

Will it connect with the ICB cycleway? Will the tunnel be used at last?
Will there be second route to The Valley?

Will it happen? Or will a Boral (famous for cutting the Prospect Canal offroad cycleway to build access to a development and replacing it with stop lights across a four lane highway in a cutting with descents to the crossing on both sides? http://www.canalreserve.org )

Most definitely although if I was a cynical man I'd suggest we'll be in for many more years of pain prior to any possible connectivity, luckily I'm not.
 
We really need to get involved now and stick it to them to ensure northside cyclists aren't going to be further disadvantaged for up to 11 years of construction. My two cents.

I will write a follow-up letter to the Lord Mayor with regards to my letter to him sometime in 2006 where I suggested they create a bike lane from Bowen Park, under the existing bridge on Bowen Bridge Road, to Gilchrist Avenue.

Not that it will help those of us trying to cycle from Kedron/Albion/Lutwyche, because we still have to somehow get to Bowen Park alive!
