Hi All,

Thanks to Soma for the detailed dance program plan.

I think it is important  for us to meet this Sunday 21st July to draft the email that will go out to seek participants. We need to send the mail by 28th July to get participants and start the rehearsals on time.

We can meet at Lloyd park or at my place around 4:00pm whichever is convenient depending on the weather.

Please confirm your availability.

Further to the preliminary discussion at our last meeting, following is the outline of our Mahalaya dance programme. Am happy to say that we have slightly twigged our original plan and now the dances will be performed by 'CBC Durgas' in a much wider age range.
Special appreciation for those wonderful ladies whose bubbling enthusiasm made it impossible to leave out the ladies' dance performance!! Your crestfallen faces on hearing about the dropping of the ladies' dance has been haunting me...

So here goes...

1. Sanskrit shlok 'Ya Chandi' - on saxophone by Soham
2. Sanskrit shlok 'Sinhastha shashi shekhara' - vocal by Debjani's son with dance by Guria and Risha.
3. Children's dance on 'Fule Fule Dhole Dhole' - age group 3-4
4. Children's dance on 'Pujor gandho eshechhe' - age group 5-8
5. Girls' dance on 'Bajlo tomar alor benu' - age group 9-12
6. Ladies' dance on 'Jago Durga' - 5 ladies

Please delete the song titles when you forward a request for participation to the wider group. We do not need any more participants for events 1 and 2. Also, please keep a tab on the ladies' dance participants as the choreography needs only 5.
All names to be in by 10th August as I need to get dance costumes from India.

Rehearsals will go to floor around first week of September. Watch this space for further details and updates. And till then, enjoy the shine.

Regarding kids group song I thought of 'pujor gondho' earlier. But as it is already performed in dance programe so I need to find something else. Please give me few more days for this.

Regarding ladies songs.. I agree with you, if a number of people will do solo it will not come out  good. Let me know if you have any further discussion/decision on this.

I will be able to check my mails during my stay in india in regular way. So if needed anyone can contact me through mails .
