Subject: Foster homes

As you know CBAR is not a shelter. We are a network of people providing loving foster homes which provide a safe and healthy environment for cats and kittens to thrive and become socialized while they await adoption into their forever homes. Often these animals are turned over to us in distress either through abandonment, or because they can no longer be cared for by the owner and more. It’s no secret that the stray cat popoulation in Toronto is vast and each day these animals are left outside putting them at risk for illness, pregnancy or worse. That is why our Foster Homes are such an important part of what we do. Each foster home that makes space gives one more cat a chance at a healthy life. As with each adoption, we have space to take in one more; a cat that can be rescued and brought in from the streets. However, we are at capacity because of the endless need for rescue.

New Foster Homes for cats or kittens are needed and the time is now. If you are interested in saving and making lives better, please consider becoming a CBAR foster parent and help us save kittens like Bracken and Willow. (attached picture)

As you probably already know, Cat Busters Animal Rescue is 100% volunteer based. These incredible people make CBAR’s success in the care and placement of rescued animals possible. They are a vital part of our ability to help animals in need. Their contribution to the welfare of these animals is appreciated, essential and invaluable. Would you like to join us as a volunteer and feel the satisfaction of making a difference?

If your answer is yes, we have a wide variety of volunteer opportunities at CBAR. Whether it’s helping to socialize animals or lending a hand at fundraising, every effort is a step forward in caring for and finding a forever home for our furry friends. All it takes is a yes. If you are interested in volunteering with CBAR in any capacity we would love to hear from you! For more information, email us at
catbus...@yahoo.ca call 416-966-1303 and leave us a message. We look forward to having you join us.

Hi All,

Cat Busters Animal Rescue’s reputation has now outgrown our size and our capacity to easily meet the needs of our communities. Why?

Currently we have only six dedicated full time volunteers who also all have full time jobs.
We have just enough foster homes to house the cats we currently have who are looking for their forever homes, appoximately 50.

With so few volunteers we are always stretched too thin. This in turn limits the number of monthly Adoption Days we can attend; limiting the number of cats/kittens we can place in their forever homes for, whichlimits the number of spaces we have available for new intakes, which limits our ability to offer assistance and safety to the cats and kittens that really need it.
For Cat Busters Animal Rescue to be able to continue responding to the desperate calls for help that we receive for animals in need, we need your help. We need volunteers willing to dedicate as little as a four hours a month to attend an adoption day, or make a drive to and/or from a vet clinic once a month.  We need volunteers willing to foster a cat, or kitten, so that we will have the space to help another.

Please help us so that we can continue to help the innocents who are still out there in the cold.

Hi All,

The Board of Cat Busters Animal Rescue is asking this question, hoping to get answers from our supporters and those signed up for our gmail newsletters as  part of a process to update our mission statement.

I am hopeful we will get some response to this email, with your thoughts/answers to the question of:

Why is saving animals important to human lives?

Long or short answers are very much appreciated.

Thank you,

Adrienne Bentley, CEO
