Hi Darshan,
Your concern is well noted for the cost of equipment. But after last year's experience of gym equipments procured of a lesser known brand, we aren't very happy. Below are just the list of equipments which have gone unrectified or not replaced-
1. Ski row parts falling off and not getting rectified and the reply from vendor "woh actually kuch use ka nahi hai" (meaning- a vicer or a screw falling off a mechanical equipment after 10-12 days of usage is not important)
2. Borso ball getting deflated within the first few days.( No resolution)
3.Both gym Foam roller cracking within 3-4 months. ( Lying cracked)
4. Metal plate for the back rod not getting anchored to floor, reply "bhejta hoon" finally after 8 days we had to do via our vendor.
5. Correct Rack fitting(residents complaining of fingers getting pinched, reply "racks aise hi hota hai" finally we had to get it done via our in-house samarth team )
6. The incline decline bench shaking after every few days and we have to tighten the screws.
The above are some of the issue noted.
Although i was of the view that Life fitness equipments are expensive but they are work horses and easily outlast the other local brands by a wide margin. Given the amount of use in both gyms, (i.e on a daily average of 85 members in T5 and 55 members in T1 + their instructors handling these equipment), Life fitness makes better sense with their safety record and failure rate.
For these reasons we should opt for life fitness and for cost reasons we have curtailed the procurement to 2 for each Gym for this year.
I have listed my reasons above.
We will wait for others call in this and decide.
