Do you all know of any residential treatment facilities in Texas for children with autism?  I just spoke with a mother of an 11 year old boy with autism who is now showing many negative behaviors that he's not shown before.  She thinks there might be something besides the autism going on, and is looking for an inpatient facility where they could get him stabilized as well as try to find out medically what else might be going on with her son.  Any ideas you can give would be most appreciated.  Thanks!

Here's the list of residential tx centers & day schools, which include an Autism diagnosis,  that School Districts can send children to.  I understand that there are Federal resources to help them pay for it to.  Does anyone know more about that funding resource being available?

My son needs intensive behavior therapy & things are getting seriously worse at his school.  I don't believe there is an aide anywhere near him most of the time.  He has showed up at home 3 hrs early on an early bus 2x in less than a month.  No one at the school reported him missing or lost.  One of those days NO ONE was at home he was alone locked outside.  Today he is in ISS for verbally fighting & hitting somone that he says bullied him.  And he HAS a FBA & BIP, although very poorly done.  His avoidance, lying, & stealing are positively being reinforced by the school.

 

I really need some local support from others that are available.  thx, dm
