Hope to Help write to you on behalf of WSD (Welfare of Stray Dogs), Which is a registered welfare NGO that carries out the animal birth control programme of sterilizing and immunizing stray dogs, in Mumbai. they have sterilized more than 40,000 stray dogs and impacted the lives of more than one lakh.
Its objectives are to control the stray dog population and eliminate human rabies.
WSD also has an adoption programme, an on-site first aids programme and education and awareness.
WSD conducts an education programme in schools for students from class 1st to 12th. the programme called 'The Day of the Dog' is in the form of a slide presentation and aims at sensitizing students and teaching them about the environment in an urban city.
It also acts as an important tool of rabies eradication as information about rabies and its prevention and dog- bit prevention is imparted.
The presentation is interactive and the time and content can be tailored according to the time allotted.
