Hi All,

Does anyone have an HVAC repair company that they're really happy
with? My downstairs heat pump needs some some help; I turned it on
the other day and it was just blowing cool air, not the usual cold
air.

Thanks!

Ours did the same thing this spring Chris.... the capacitor was bad. You can tell its bad if the ends are puffed outward slightly instead of indented like a beer can, which is what it is shaped like.
$100 labor and the part was under warranty... we got off easy. The part runs a few hundred. We used TRI-County Aire as they installed the unit.

You can remove the top side panel and look at the capacitor.... maybe get one a lot cheaper on ebay with the serial numers?. They are pretty dangerous to install for the layman as they hold electricity, even when shut off.  ZZZAAPPPPP!

Good luck Chris!

Chris,
We have been using Bay Breeze Heating and AC for years. They are fair and reputable people.
410-798-6933 Ryan Butler is one of the owners. Feel free to tell him I referred you.
Good luck.

Brooke,

On a different topic....

We live in 9145 Megatha Lane.  Our model was called the Van Buren, I believe, when they were named after Presidents...I can't remember what the name was when it was named after a wine.

Anyway, my father in law will be moving in with us and we're trying to figure out whether there is enough room to convert the first-floor powder room into a bath with a shower stall.  We thought we might be able to move the powder room wall out into the dining room.  As the builder of the home, do you know whether there would be enough room, or could you recommend someone that we could contact for an estimate?  We're looking for someone who would do good work at a reasonable rate.

Thanks!
