Hello Neighbors! A quick update. Spraying should begin on Thursday evening, July 8th. We are scheduled for spraying each Thursday through October and there may be additional treatments, if required. I will let you know if the County determines that the additional treatments are required and when they will be administered. Thanks! Hi Vic, 

Just checking if the Mosquito spraying took place thursday night and if the bakers are on the list for long driveways. We are 200' maybe 300' feet off the street and surrounded by wet creeks.... the bites are really pretty bad down here in the woods.

Is there someone else I should double check with? Last year they never came down our long driveway and I saw them drive right by us..... I thought that was the plan to hit the long flag lots.

We were not home Thursday evening so I don't know if the county sprayed or if they skipped you....they should not have skipped you. I will check with the County on Monday and let you know.

Spraying is affected by weather and other factors:

• Cannot spray when over 90 degrees
• Cannot spray when raining
• Cannot spray when air quality is code red or higher

Each community is assigned two days of the week to be sprayed. They will only be sprayed on those two days as needed.

In order to provide better service to all of the communities, we’ve improved our mosquito control trucks. Our new monitoring system allows us to get better data on how much insecticide is used, the acres treated and the time it takes to spray a community. One of the best features of the monitoring system is that there is an accurate measure of insecticide reducing the risk of over-spraying an area. The Ultra-Low Volume spraying systems were upgraded with GPS mapping software, which gives accurate information on insecticide applications, truck speeds and location of applications. As the driver sprays, the community is mapped.
