So last night about midnight the doorbell rings and it's an officer
from the sheriff's department. He was kind enough to let me know I
had left the garage open, and informed me they were keeping a close
eye on the neighborhood due to a recent car theft on Covenant Court!
Does anyone know when this happened and have any more details?

Checked the garage, all accounted for. I really hope this is not the
case.

Just to let ya'll know, my red dog Toby has been barking his head off toward the back woods for the past 40 mins.  I went out to call him in and some "animal calls" were made back at me.  TWICE.  Gah!  I think there are probably 3 boys back there based on the different species animal calls.  I can't get my dog back in the house and he has moved steadily from one corner of my property (Browns) to the other (John & Vanessas/Petrucci's).  He's NOT happy with whatever is going on.  These are NOT deer or any other animal as he would have given up long ago.

Also, I have been in contact with some other (Marty Isles - Cabin Branch) who have seen some strange car activity.  I forwarded them the google group info and I hope they will join.  If there is another list, could someone please add them?

Many thanks!

Brad, I'm having difficulty with the email address Marty Isles provided.  It keeps getting bounced back.  He mentioned he knew you.  Do you have his correct email?

Many thanks,
Kory

I'm not sure if this is related.
A few weeks ago as I was leaving the neighborhood, there were several articles of clothing thrown on the side of the road.
As I approached Grovers Turn, I saw two car seats and more items thrown there. There was an officer parked. I spoke to him briefly about what I noticed.
I assumed he was investigating a car theft.
I have not heard of any neighborhood pranks lately, perhaps our pranksters have graduated?

To let everyone know there was an auto theft on Covenant Court couple
of days ago at 0445 hrs. It was in the driveway with window down and
keys in truck. Suspect let the car roll out of the driveway and then
started it up. Didn't turn the lites on until up the street. Might
have picked up another person as when he got to Good Shepherd/Covenant
Court he turned off his lites and then back on, maybe as a signal to
someone. Erica was on her porch smoking and saw this happen, but
didn't put 2+2 until after the fact (guess she thought Mike was trying
to get out of the house without making noise!!). Sheriff was called
and report filed. They also have been making more patrols, but
remember we are the first line of defense!!! If you see anything
suspicious call sheriff. Maybe the little tidbit of info you have
will fit in with something else they have. You never know.

As much as we hate to admit it Calvert does have crime, but most
criminals work off of opportunities. Some basic things to consider:
lock your cars and NEVER leave the keys inside. Another thing to
consider is that most people have garage door openers in their car.
If that car is parked outside and you leave car open (or even when its
locked) the suspect has an easy way to get in your house. Don't
leave your garage doors open if you are going to be away from the
house. If you are going walking or to neighbors close the door, only
takes a second for someone to walk in. I'm at work, so time for me to
get some food!! Stay safe!!!

...and I watched it from my porch...I thought Mike was leaving, but couldn't figure out why he wouldn't turn on his headlights. It dawned on me when I was in the shower at 5:30 that I think Mike's truck may have just gotten stolen. I called Mike at 6:30 and he answered, so I knew I was right.

I feel horrible...

hopefully they will find it...
