Tuesday night dance workshop

Hi Joan,

Thanks for your interest....  I stopped the workshops because it was getting more complicated in several areas. Caz used to charge $75 for the year, but they raised it to $275. Caz required us to have insurance, which Dancelovers carried since it didn’t cost them anything then they started wanting money.... along with a few other issues it was more than I wanted to do to maintain the event. 

A number of people have asked if these were going to start up again. If there is a simple way I would be glad to.... what do you think would be involved in using the gymnasium?

This is an awesome up and coming band and the Cider House, off Route 89 North of Trumansburg, is more accessable for us Syracuse area folks

than downtown Ithaca by taking the Thruway West to either Exit 40 (Weedsport) or Exit 40 (Seneca Falls/Waterloo) and finding your way to 89 South.

Also, Bob Lyna's band, Nuclear Ukelle plays the Auburn Theater this same date from 4pm to 6pm.

Hope all is well with you.

I always had fun learning some of the less ballroomy dances like west coast, lindy hop, country two step etc.  I stopped because Tuesdays don’t work right now.  So I’ll be following developments to see what shakes out.  Thanks for keeping me in the loop!

Hi All, The auditorium in the Manlius Village Hall is probably available on Tuesday nights (7:30-9:30). I spoke with the Village Clerk this morning and they require a written proposal be submitted to the Village Board for their approval. I’m happy to draft a proposal (Eric, I might have to pick  your brain for specifics). I’ll check with Isias  at the Dance Lovers Meeting next week to see about getting covered under Dance Lover’s insurance if the Village requires it…

I know that everybody misses the Tuesday night workshops and it’s a great way to introduce new people to dance!

Hi, I was fairly new at the Cazenovia weekly dance classes, but I really enjoyed attending.  I would be happy if it started up again. Manlius is a great location, but anyplace in the vicinity works for me.  I appreciate the work that Eric did in Cazenovia to make it happen.

If Manlius Village Hall does not work out you should consider the Catherine Cummins Theater behind the Linklaenin House:

Cazenovia College should be receptive to your events as they would be open to students interested in learning to dance and

in the future we may be able to bypass the insurance requirement if there are regular student attendees.

The Cazenovia American Legion has a big hall at 26 Chenango St in Caz - they want us to use their facility, but also require liability insurance plus they will charge us for using their space  - I am happy to facilitate us dancing there -  Wendy Taylor 315-450-4111
