I'm trying to install a specific version of Firefox (52.8) on Centos 6.9. I've used "yumdownload --resolve firefox...x86_64". It created a folder the firefox rpm as well as 5 or six other dependencies. These included nspr-4.19 and several nss-3.6 rpms.
When I tried to install it on another system (using rpm -ivh firefox..x86-64.rpm), it had a dependency conflict with existing nspr (a lower version). When I tried to uninstall the existing version, it said it would delete a bunch of important modules.
If you pass all dependencies to a rpm -U (or yum install) command -- not just the firefox RPM -- it should satisfy the requirements for nspr, etc. for other packages on the system. This will not work, however, if other packages depend on a specific version of nspr.
If you really must play a flash video, the best method is to just download it and play it with mplayer or similar. Or convert it from .flv to .mp4 or something with ffmpeg or handbrake. There are several video-downloader plugins available for firefox that make it easy to download a video rather than play/stream it.

This article will show how to update the web browsers (both firefox and chrome) to current latest versions (as of April the 20th 2020). This procedure is only tested in Centos 7.4 (or the equivalent SGO Installation Tool) for older versions of the OS or for newer versions of the web browsers the library requirements could be different.
You can install Flatpak by running dnf install flatpak. Once it is installed, you will need to add the flathub repo there flatpak remote-add --if-not-exists flathub Then you can do a flatpak install firefox. They currently have Firefox 90.0.2 there. Does this help you?
Now, launch the Firefox from this location, e.g. /opt/firefox/firefox. Once you see everything works asexpected, you can create a top panel application launcher, which will point to the new location. I even grabbedthe Aurora icon so I can more easily differentiate between the two. Job done.
To verify that Firefox has been successfully installed, open the Troubleshooting Information page. In the Application Basics window, the value of Application Binary should be /opt/firefox/firefox-bin.
My strong suggestion would be to get a simple graphical environment set up following this article:
Don't use follow the instructions about how to use a display manager, follow the instructions on how to start it manually (In other words, follow the link to Xinitrc. Once you have a working Xorg environment, firefox will "just work"
xorg-clock and xterm (and twm) are unnecessary if he wants to execute anything (DE/WM, maybe even firefox) different from what /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc does. If he wants to execute the three then he doesn't need an .xinitrc.
