Whatever displeasure I felt from ep 15 is completely gone. Even my hubs, who watched with me, complimented the writing and wanted to go back to watch the episodes he missed since I watched them without him.

Now back to "Alchemy of Souls"! It's going to be a long drama...20 episodes long so I may or may not write a post for each episode. Just don't pressure me to do so! It does take a great deal of time and thinking to write these posts and well it's the summer....I'm trying to relax and not use my brain as much lol! The things I have mentioned here can also be found on my Twitter, but they are very basic on that platform. These Tumblr posts will further elaborations on some of the theories I had posted on Twitter.

First, "eyes are the gateways to our souls". Second, there are two gateways in which the soul can enter or exit: the eyes and the heart. I am theorizing that because Mu Deok does not have a soul which could've exited through the area above her heart, she would have no blue mark there. Due to this, Naksu's soul had no where else to go except for the other gateway which was through Mu Deok's eyes.

If you remembered during Ep 2, Jin and his minions were not only trying to steal Naksu's body and sword, but also trying to get into Cheonbugwan. There is a device that Jin Mu is aware of which is resides in Cheonbugwan: the Soul Ejector. Not much is known about this device. I'm guessing that based off of its name, it is a device which ejects souls and can be used to reverse soul swapping.

It'll be funny if Jin Mu is doing all of this just so he can swap into the body of the current king and therefore be the King. But yea I'm still not able to accurately predict what Jin Mu's full plan is yet. I would need more episodes for that!

Then in this upcoming week's episode, we see both Seo Yul and Dang Gu visiting Naksu and Jang Uk in Danhyanggot despite Naksu initially telling them she was going to Sari. Smart cookie Seo Yul went with the assumption that Mu Deok is actually Naksu and therefore he headed to Danhyyanggok instead of Sari. Naksu had probably mentioned to Seo Yul that she was from Danhyanggot back during their love bird days.

As for Yul + Naksu, if he has the body somehow, he may well hide her out where he is. But I think the romance line for that is done, with nails in the coffin (I am very sorry to those who were hoping for that). That scene in ep 19 was too final. However! I think we have a use finally for the medical granddaughter! She is a nice character and smart, and Yul needs continual medical care, and I have a feeling it will be him, not the crown prince, who ultimately starts something with her. And yeah, it sounds like that blood worm will continue to be an issue for him. I wonder how many episodes before the bad guys realize they can control/affect him with it. Anyway, I would be happy if the two of them ended up together, as both are nice people and deserve some happiness.

One thing...Junguk promises naksu to take her to the top of the tree...he has yet to do that from what I remember. I have a feeling that will be in S2 ...my gut tells me it will be in the last episode of S2 if it's a happy ending.

This show irritated me so much that I couldn't even be properly irritated with the one character I wanted Dead since episode 1 and that's Jin Mu. He is like a honey badger. I love the actor that plays him, but he was such a queen in this drama. I was waiting for him to walk the runway like RuPaul's Drag Race singing "Sashay Chante".

I understand that the writers wanted to make things right as it is quite weird and strange to have the male lead and female lead get married and have children and live happily ever after with the female lead having 2 souls in a body that isn't even hers. However, they could have fixed it up right in the middle of season 1 so we could have seen the relationship development of the two with the soul in the correct body and have not invested on Mudeok and Uk. Also it would have given us a chance to have gotten to know Buyeon much better as a separate entity or body from Naksu's soul. But whatever. I'm over it. LOL! I'll let the writer write whatever they want to write. I give up. LOL!

Right up to the 1 hour mark in the last episode, I was confident that this was going to end the Jang Uk/Naksu story arc - With 27 minutes remaining, MD/BY/Naksu walks into the secret room to face Jin Mu, and I was almost giddy, as I thought okay, here is the big reveal, Bu Yeon is going to go blue-eyed the moment Jin Mu touches her back, and go on to tell us all why she chose Naksu - they had both been used by Jin Mu, and together they would take him down - Bu Yeon tells Jin Mu, we're no longer yours to manipulate ... Jin Mu asks - who is "we"? - Bu Yeons eyes flare even brighter blue, as she simply replies ... take him ... blues eyes go instantly dark, and in one fluid motion Naksu beheads him

- The Crown Prince listening to Jin Mu - I mean at all - we've watched the Crown Princes transformation for the last 19 episodes - and all that gets tossed away with a few words of man being pursued as a criminal? EPIC FAIL Hong sisters

- The plot to kill Jin Dad - this is a plot hole so HUGE you could drive a Truck of Doom through it - So, we're eagerly awaiting for Jin Dad to recover so he can testify against Jin Mu and end this - Jin Mu knows this, and sends Naksu to kill him. LETS REVIEW - more than 2 episodes ago at least 5 people ( Park Jin, Jang Uk, MD/Naksu, Yul, and Dang Gu ) knew So I was a plant for Jin Mu, yet after Queen/Shaman face off, and after the barrier falling, they allowed So I to escape when she could've provided almost the same information - and other than Yul, at the end of this episode no one is looking for her - EVEN AFTER she came back and ran into Jin Mother.

- WHERE THE HELL WAS MASTER LEE DURING ALL OF THIS???!!! the man threatened to kill Naksu if she drew her sword, he's supposed to be a spiritual guide of sorts, and yet during the last 2 + episodes he's just GONE??? add another EPIC FAIL to the pile Hong Sisters

It is a horrible episode not because the OTP did not end up together, or for the FL to stab the ML at the end. It is horrible in my books because I don't feel any wiser at the so called finale. I mean fine MD/JBY is not the true love of Jang Uk so she has to get out of the picture somehow so that the main OTP can be together properly. I don't feel like I get any closure for any of the main questions in the story, chief among them being JBY story. [Am also one of those who only stay on watching the drama for JBY story development, was really looking forward to Mama Jin realization that she almost killed her own daughter or that her daughter killed her own father soul shifter mode knowing that father had a hand in almost killing said daughter, this was the more interesting tangent to me] If they plan to just leave her story hanging like that, I've rather they left MD as a random blind girl on the streets instead of building her story to get me emotionally invested in her character only to have her do absolutely nothing when you have absolutely expected her to do something being the so called most powerful priestess at Daeho.

I hope I'm right,.. I hope you make her a cameo until ep10 or just include Jung Somin as Buyeon-ssi on Season 2. And let alone Naksu retrieve her own body. Writers just please stop Shifting souls already.

Created by Hong Jung-eun and Hong Mi-ran, collectively known as the Hong sisters, the fantasy series follows the lives of young mages in the fictional kingdom of Daeho, who utilise a forbidden spell that allows their souls to switch bodies.

The series is divided into parts, with Part One airing earlier this year and spanning 20 episodes. The 10-episode second part is titled Alchemy Of Souls: Light and Shadow, which refers to the two lead characters, Jang Uk (Lee Jae-wook) and Cho Yeong (Go Yoon-jung).

The first episode from part two is released on Saturday December 10 on Netflix. For US viewers, the episode is released at 12am PT/3am ET, while it will be available for UK viewers from 8am GMT.

Jung So-min, who played the female lead in part one, will not reprise her role in the second set of episodes. Many of the supporting cast however will return, including Hwang Min-hyun as Seo-yul, Shin Seung-ho as Go Won, Yoo Joong-sang as Park Jin and Arin as Jin Cho-yeon.

In the second season of Alchemy of Souls, it was revealed that Mudeok was, in fact, Jin Bu-yeon and was rescued by the Jin family with the help of Senior mage Lee. He did keep the fact to himself for three years. Jang Uk and Naksu were, however, meant to meet again. It is only in episode 8 that the two of them realize the truth.

The answer comes in the final moments of episode 10 of Alchemy of Souls season 2. Jin Seol-ran decides to give complete control of Jin Bu-yeon's body to Naksu and disappears after the Fire Bird is taken care of. Following this, Jang Uk and Naksu, with the blessings of the mages of Jinyowon and Songrim, live as a married couple. They are handed the responsibility of hunting down the relics that escaped from Jinyowon's mansion during the fight.
