The secondary school graduation certificate which would admit a student to an internationally recognized university in their home country is normally acceptable for admission to the University of Guelph.

Bermuda Secondary School Certificate with excellent grades; 12 years of schooling, a combination of British (B)GCSE examinations and SAT I and II subject tests upon request. See also IB, GCE and American Patterned Education.


Students must complete the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) Diploma with a minimum of 6 individual subjects with at least two 2-Unit courses at the CAPE Level. Other subjects may be presented at the CSEC (CXC) Level. Predicted CAPE Level grades of 1 or 2 are required for admission consideration. Students going into Science or Engineering are encouraged to take a minimum of two 2-Unit CAPE Level subjects in Science and/or Mathematics.


1. Students progressing through Upper Middle School: the Academic Proficiency Test (APT)/HuiKao from CHESICC-Parchment Portal Service with a minimum of 5 relevant required subjects for the degree and major, along with school documents for grades 10, 11, and first semester Grade 12 are required. Final official Upper Middle School Graduation Certificate will be required in August from the CHESICC-Parchment Portal Service.


2. Students who finished high school in a previous year are required to submit the Upper Middle School Graduation Certificate and the Chinese National University Entrance Examinations (NCEE) including a minimum of 5 relevant required subjects. All documents and English translations must be sent directly to Admission Services through CHESICC-Parchment Portal Service. In the absence of NCEE, SAT I and SAT II subject tests including all required subjects specific to your degree and major may be submitted for admission consideration.


For early admission decisions, students may submit verified 10th standard board results accompanied by anticipated Class 12 grades listed by subject from the school, with a minimum average of 80%. Completion of Class 12 Board Exam Certificate with strong First Division standing is required in May/June. All information required by the board to verify your Class 10 and 12 certificates. Students wishing to pursue a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Commerce who do not have 12th Standard Math please register and complete an www.ilc.org MHF4U Math for Biological Science or Commerce and MCV4U Math for Physical Science degrees with a minimum 75-80% depending on degree/major. Final Indian curriculum graduating documents must be submitted to Admission Services from the corresponding board. When possible, Admission Services will verify scanned finals online that can be emailed to int...@uoguelph.ca.


Applicants from Bahrain, Jordan, Palestine, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, and Yemen must present the National Secondary School Education/Leaving Certificate (Tawjihiyah) with very good/excellent results overall and in appropriate subjects.


Students from Kuwait should present the Shahad-al-thanawia-al-a-a'ama (General Secondary School Certificate) with excellent results and those from UAE, the Secondary School Certificate (Shahadat Al-Thanawiya Al-Amma). See UAE for more details. Documents must be official and come from the school, Ministry or the appropriate Cultural Bureau.


First-year standing in a recognized university is normally required, however, applicants holding the Mattayom 6 with superior academic standing (3.0 to 4.0 in all required core courses) may be considered.


Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education. Five academic subjects: English, with at least 3 academic A Levels of a minimum B to begin admission consideration. (See also: British Patterned Education (GCE))

We are looking for prerequisite courses at the senior level and they should include specific subjects that are required for admission to your degree program and major of choice. AP is not a standalone curriculum however if you will graduate with your home country or another accredited curriculum you may use your AP examination results from the College Board as transfer credits.


If you have completed Advanced Placement Final Examinations with a minimum grade of 4, you will be eligible to receive university-specific transfer credits, where applicable, to a maximum of 2.00 credits. You may request a change to unspecified credit on an individual basis within the first 30 days of your first semester.

You are expected to present a minimum 'A/B' or 6/7 grade on (I)GCSE, AS and predicted Advanced Level examinations with a minimum of 5 unique subject areas. While consideration will be given to subject prerequisites at the (I)GCSE Level, you are encouraged to present requirements at the AS or Advanced Level. Please note that General paper is not considered an acceptable subject.


(GCE) will be granted transfer credits for Advanced level subjects with a final grade of C or better to a maximum of 3.0 credits. Transfer credit will be assigned once official final certificates have been received in Admission Services.

U of G will accept student copies of this documentation for online verification if uploaded to your Admission Portal. Students coming from Mauritius and Botswana must order direct and complete the process above.


For students who graduated in previous years without an NCEE you may substitute this by using a combination of SAT and SATII Subject Test, SAT Critical Reading and Math with a combined minimum of 1100 and SAT II Subject tests with an approximate minimum of 550 per subject. The specific SAT II Subject Tests required depend upon the intended field of study:


For students enrolled in a Canadian high school, British Patterned high school, International Baccalaureate high school, or American Patterned high school, please consult our website for more details on entrance requirements.


Completed European Baccalaureate Diploma including prerequisite required exam with a minimum overall average of 75-80%. English must be a minimum of L1 or L2. Students with English as L2 are expected to write an English Proficiency exam.


If you are applying with an IB Diploma from outside of Canada, you should present a minimum score of 28. Many programs will require a higher score for admission consideration. Reported bonus points from TOK and EE will be taken into consideration.


You should complete the Diploma with 6 subjects: 3 Higher Level and 3 Standard Level. You should also include specific subject requirements for the program you are applying to among your Standard and Higher Level courses. If you are currently completing the IB Diploma, you will be considered for admission consideration based upon predicted IB scores. You should ensure that your anticipated scores are submitted using the 7 point scale.


Note: Math Studies/Standard Level Applications and Interpretations are not an acceptable prerequisite for programs that require Grade 12 Advanced Functions, Calculus or equivalent. Students who do not complete the full IB Diploma must meet admission standards from an accredited high school graduating curriculum.


Upon receipt of official final results from the IBO, we will assign specific transfer credits, where applicable, to a maximum of 2.0 credits for grades of 5 or better on Higher Level courses where you have been awarded the IB Diploma or DP Course. You may request a change to unspecified credit on an individual basis within the first 30 days of your first semester.


No direct admission from secondary school. A minimum of two years of a university undergraduate degree program is required for admission consideration. Students preparing for admission to the DVM program should take high school Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Advanced Math or Calculus
