Hi gang, i've got two separate ones today.

The first one is contract or contract-to-hire for a retail firm based in Hoffman Estates (go ahead and guess who that is!) and this position will be 100% onsite there. They're building a team of 2-3 people and the first project will be "an app which will help in-store customers communicate with Associates." I don't like to include the full listing, but i'll say that this one was actually pretty well written (ie, everything in there was relevant; none of that "php, c# and AS/400 a plus!" crap.) The only out-of-the-ordinary point was "Experience with OpenGL and 3D graphics is beneficial." When i pressed the recruiter on it, she wasn't sure whether this app would actually include any 3d graphics. A few other items from the listing: web services, distribution tools (such as TestFlight) and mobile web development. They're listing this at $30-$100/hour which just barely cracks my "$100/hour for professional developers" metric.

The second is with a firm that bills themselves as a "Mobile Business Application" developer in the northwest quintile of the city. They're looking for either contract or full time with "salary depending on the experience of the developer" but they are leaning towards someone who is junior to mid-level. This one is also 100% onsite. This listing was also pretty standard but they did mention Core Data specifically.

These are for two separate recruiters so if you're interested, email me off list and let me know which you're interested in. I'll put you in touch and as always, i'm happy to make introductions.

Finally, as this is my first job posting since the new guidelines went into effect, i wanted to mention that while i'm often offered, i don't accept referral bonuses. Helping hirers and recruiters keeps my pipeline full and it also helps my pals get work. All of that win is enough for me, and i don't want a few hundred bucks to get in the way of that.

All the best,
K
