Due to high demand, A Glimpse of Africa in partnership with Lighthouse Immigrant Advocates attorney Bill will be holding another Know Rights Session!

    • 4th Amendment Rights – Understanding your rights regarding searches and seizures

    • Interacting with Law Enforcement & ICE – What to say and do if approached by the police or immigration officials

    • Warrants & Civil Rights – The difference between judicial and administrative warrants and how they affect you

    • Rights within a Border Zone – How immigration enforcement operates within Michigan’s border zone

    • Notary & Immigration Attorney Fraud – Recognizing and avoiding common scams targeting immigrants

    • Preparing for Detention or Deportation – Steps to take in case of an immigration-related emergency

    • Emergency Planning Checklist – Essential documents and steps for families to be prepared

Who Should Attend?
This session is ideal for immigrants (both documented and undocumented), refugees, U.S. citizens with immigrant family members, non-immigrant allies, case managers, educators, childcare providers, healthcare workers, and faith-based leaders who want to better understand and support immigrant rights.

To ensure the safety and comfort of our community members, there will be an option to attend the meeting online or in person. Please share this invite with your teams, neighbors, friends, communities, and anyone in your network who may benefit from this informational workshop. All attendees must register to confirm that only invited members are joining the meeting in person or online.
