Help to Preserve the Great Meadow as a UNESCO World Heritage Site

Dear friends, Happy World Environment Day!
Today, on behalf of the Ukraine War Environmental Consequences Workgroup (UWEC) I seek your support to an appeal for inscription of the Lower Dnipro River valley on a Tentative list of World Heritage.
Proposed by 50 environmental, cultural, archaeological, scientific, and expert organizations of Ukraine, this is a multilateral initiative to protect the riverscape, known as Velykyi Luh (Great Meadow), an area of great historical, cultural and natural importance that re-emerged after Kakhovka reservoir was destroyed in 2023..

Velykyi Luh is a great symbol of Nature’s resilience in the face of war and it should not be destroyed ever again.
