Hello,
As a former MIS 374 client who worked with our MIS students in the past on a project, I’m seeking your help! We are getting close to starting the spring semester, and we are still in need of several projects. These real-world opportunities are vital for our students in their learning journey, and it’s an awesome way to for us to give back to the community.
I’m reaching out to you to see if you know of any small businesses or organizations that could use some pro-bono IT/software work performed by our students. Please share my plea for help and the attached flyer with anyone you know that could benefit from working with our students on a project, or direct them to our website http://www.mis374.com/. The organization does not need to be local to Austin, as our students are equipped to work effectively in remote situations. The projects to not need to be complex – they could streamline manual data collection processes (e.g. sign-in at events) or create/upgrade websites with a data collection component (e.g. accept and manage donations). Projects will run for about 10 weeks from mid-Feb to early May and we are hoping to finalize all client spots by January 31st.
Thanks so much for your help in spreading the word so that we can provide this learning opportunity for our students!
Kind regards,
Caryn
