Yesterday I reported that my e-mail account was phished, resulting in lot of false messages going out to people asking them to bid on a project. I was driving all day as messages flooded in and apologize again for any headaches that may have resulted.
I was able to check with Google, which provides my e-mail service. They recommended changing my password ASAP, which I have done with both of my devices. If you haven’t done so, I recommend you do the same—even if you clicked on the link and nothing happened. That is how I was hacked. I got this same message from a client, with whom coincidentally we were discussing a project and proposal, so I didn’t see the bid request as anything unusual. Nothing happened when I clinked on the file and link, but 2-3 days later the flood of spam went out in my name. If you did not try to open the file, you should be OK, but if you did, change your password and talk with your e-mail service on how best to protect yourselves and others.
Again, my apologies,
George
