Best wishes from afar

For those of you who attended the International Congress of Speleology in Kerrville in 2009, you have a message of best wishes and hopes you are all well from Fadi Nader. He contacted me today concerned about the flooding.
Fadi is originally from Lebanon but has lived and worked in Paris for about 20 years. He was a member of the Bureau of the International Union of Speleology (UIS), which organizes the congresses every four years. The next one is in Brazil later this month.
Fadi was elected Secretary General of the UIS in Kerrville and held that position until 2022. Whenever I see him, he speaks with sincere good memories of his time in Kerrville and with special fondest for the Texas cavers he met there. I told him that to the best of my knowledge, no cavers were hurt by the recent flooding. I hope that continues to hold true and send my best wishes with his.
