There is a new maps layer for Google Earth that has a large variety of useful overlays, including topographic maps. The density of any of these layers can be controlled with the slider, allowing one to see both the underlying satellite image and the overlay at any ratio you choose. Get it at <https://ge-map-overlays.appspot.com/>. Don't click on any of the large, misleading ad buttons - just scroll down through the text and get <map-overlays-for-google-earth-combined.kmz>. It's great, and even has topo maps for Mexico, although they aren't as good as the real Mexican topo maps, at least for southern Mexico.Mark Minton
