Good evening or hello depending on the time zone.

The Rev C seems okay but:

1.               I don't know how to turn on the Laser (LRF) It stays desperately off. This will allow me to see how it works.

2.               The outdoor general operation button is always off, no power colors or charging. Nothing. Yet it works well to cut the whole.

3.               The power supply seems to be charging well but the LED remains green during maximum charging. Even in the event of a power cut, it remains green and then goes out. It's normal....

4.                It is noted that the circuit voltage is ???? by touching the dedicated contacts on the REV C4 card. In this case, I can't fine-tune the setting on the device. Am I wrong?

Thank you.

Bonsoir ou bonjour suivant le fuseau horaire.

Le Rev C semble correct mais :

Je me trompe ?

Merci.

Hello,

Not sure if you ever got the laser rangefinder to power on, but I've finally gotten around to using both Rev B and Rev C Caveatrons I made and had a similar issue with the LRF.

I just now figured out that I had the power wires reversed going from the pcb connection to the LRF.  I finally noticed the sequence order of the GND and +3 V wires going into the plug end is different than the sequence in which they emerge from the back of the LRF. My initial confusion probably came from the pictures of the JST XH 2.54 5-pin connector in the Rev B and Rev C wiring harness documents showing the wire color sequence from Pin 1 to Pin 5 (right to left) being Black, Red, White, Yellow, and Orange. The actual order with the completed Caveatron should instead be Red, Black, White, Yellow, [orange omitted from Rev C build].

Whatever color wire you ended up using, +3V should enter the board at Pin 1 (at the bottom when plugged into pcb) and GND at Pin 2.

Hope this helps! Caveatron continues to be my favorite example of a beautifully executed open-source electronics project!

Thanks,
Paul
