Caveatron Process 2.2.2 has been released. This is mostly a bug fix update. Thanks to Thomas Marguet for reporting many of these bugs.

- Fixed a bug where making more than one edit to a station name and/or scan code caused unexpected station name and scan code changes.
- Fixed a bug that caused entered reference station x,y,z coordinates to produce incorrect scan positions.
- Fixed bugs that prevented v1 processing mode from correctly handling certain scans.
- Modified the scan selection list to make the selected scan highlighting more visible.

In addition, a new menu item was added to disable or enable the LIDAR window calibration correction (this is enabled by default on each program start). This can be used to disable the correction for scans when the new alternate RPLIDAR enclosure lid is used.

In the mechanical folder, two new STL files have been added with alternate versions of the top and bottom RPLIDAR lid. These are intended for use on occasions where you want to minimize the obscuration caused by the window corners and are willing to expose the LIDAR to the cave environment. This would generally be in dry caves with lower amounts of dust. It uses 1.5 mm diameter black stainless steel posts to support the upper lid cover, providing physical protection for the LIDAR against impacts and the minimum opening necessary for the LIDAR to work. This was tested in a cave with several dirt and rock crawlways and only a tiny amount of dust was observed inside afterwards and no effect on the LIDAR. The posts do not appear to obstruct the LIDAR data in any noticeable way. This lid can be easily and changed for the regular windowed lid if you enter an area that needs it. Right now, you will just have to keep track of which cover is being used for processing, but a preference will be added to the Caveatron at a later date to handle this in software. The 3D printed parts description document was also updated.

Thanks,
Joe

Right after posting this release a new bug was reported, so I pulled and fixed it and reissued the release on Github.

- Fixed an issue that caused .xyz survey point files (comma delimited coordinates) to load incorrectly.
