Hello, I need to calibrate the magnetometer using the 12-measurement procedure. How do you recommend I do it? With an analog compass and placing targets 6 meters away? Maybe a calibrated laser system would be more convenient , like a calibrated laser Disto?

Hi,
You need good grade analog compass like SUUNTO KB-14, some marine compasses are also good, with good precision. You can use round azimuths like 0, 30, 60 etc.
Disto calibration and precision is arguable, so i wound not trust it.

Thanks, I'll try to get a precision compass. My question was not only about the quality of the degrees, but also about how to align the targets. That's why I was thinking about something with a laser for aiming.
But a precision analog compass with sufficient distance from the targets would work, so I'll try that.

Go to free of buildings place, flat, open space and make your own points with some wood sticks. Compasses has his own optical targeting system, where you choose point and read the azimuth value, so you dont need laser aiming.
