Hi everyone and thanks for having us on board!  My wife, Fiona, and I purchased our Cav 28 in March and have called it Elleray after a cottage that Fiona lived in on Lake Windermere in the UK.  The boat came fitted with a rattly TD Power 10hp which was unreliable so we have repowered with a Beta Marine 16hp which is lovely.  If I can be so bold as to ask a question on my first post, I'd like to know how poeple deal with the fading/scratched stripes as they really diminish the look IMHO.  Thanks again, Tony.

Hi Tony, great to meet you on the water last week. I too would like to update my stripes. It would be great to get some advice from anyone out there?

Thanks,
Phil

Hi Phil,

Good to see the engine working the way it should!  Any movement on the mooring waiting list yet?

Cheers

Tony

Hi Tony,

Yes the engine is working great and I have learnt a lot. The plan is to go Electric (10KW Thunderstruck) within the next 5 years and leave all of that maintenance behind me. The pricing is very comparable now and modern batteries should give 15 - 20 years of life. By the time I take the plunge the technology will be another 50% better and cheaper.

The boat is moored at Pickering Point and still waiting on Power Hulk bay (Could take a while, but happy where I am for now). If you ever come over to Bantry Bay let me know and we can catch up.

Hope all is well on your boat and it rains less next time you are up in Sydney.
