And there is some more things like these but I have already written a lot
Thank you in advance.
There should be a option to add input sources in your settings, look for Region and language, input methods
When adding a input sources there should be a icon in the taskbar to switch the input source.
Really thank you for installing XFCE version ,I apreciate it a lot but I know that I can change layouts , problem is not in this
Look at the link above where I sent settings for a keyboard.
Manjaro sees my keyboard as Russian only but I use English too
Because of that key which contains ?/., is used only as ?/ for both layouts

I have no clue how does this work but I have made a bootable usb with Gnome edition and there everything works perfectly
Every single key works as it should work
I didnt consider Gnome before because I thought that it is too heavy but now I really think of installing it.
I am facing the following problem. I just purchased the Apple Watch Ultra, when answering a message from the watch, you can answer in Russian using voice dictation only, there is no possibility to select a Russian or Ukrainian keyboard for writing text, the watch itself is in Russian, I tried to change the keyboard language in the Apple Watch application settings - it did not help, Keyboard in Russian/Ukrainian is not available. Are there any additional settings? Please help, thanks in advance!
I don't know where that picture came from, but I do follow keyboard issues pretty closely. As far as I know, the finally released version of WatchOS 8 had only English and WatchOS 9 last fall added French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish. Since then it seems Chinese was added at some point. Perhaps Russian will appear in WatchOS 10 this fall.
Thanks. I have sent a feedback. It's quite strange, if I'm not mistaken in previous watchOS there was a Russian language keyboard support. So it's not something New but Apple just removed it from the latest update...
I don't believe Russian Language has ever been supported in Apple Watch Keyboard. Ever. Apple didn't just summarily remove it. The keyboard for Apple Watch didn't come until Apple Watch 7. When it did arrive, it had fewer language options than it does today. Apple keeps adding languages. Whether Russian language will ever be added, is something we would have no knowledge of.
I can find nothing which supports Russian language has EVER been supported on Apple Watch. Whether it may have been or may not have been is immaterial. It simply isn't supported now. And this is a user to user only forum. We don't work for Apple, nor have any input into WatchOS or the languages it supports.
I'm Xubuntu 14.04.2 user. I have two keyboard layouts: Russian and English. Sometimes when I close my laptop and then go back and try to continue to work, Xubuntu wants me to enter my user password (my password consist of English letters and numbers).
I'm running Ubuntu 21.04 and the "dbus-monitor" solution didn't work for me, So I'm sharing the way I approached it.
using xscreensaver-command we can monitor status changes of the screensaver.
Then when the status change to LOCK, we can change the layout to us and change it back once the screensaver "release" the desktop
xsecurelock is a better solution. It supports switch keyboard layouts from within the screen saver and will also give you a bold red notice if caps lock is on. It doesn't have a built-in timer like xscreensaver does so you'll need to follow the instructions on their webpage to get it to run automatically after a timeout.
I mean I tap key on Magic keyboard to change the language from one to another (from English to Russian for example), I see the label on the screen of iPad changes to rus, start to type by Magic keyboard but it still in English. I use Magic keyboard for long time. it worked well before but now have some bug
is there a way to force the input field accept the word without change keyboard language. I mean I can copy and paste the word is there something to copy and past a word (sendkeys not working in my case)
I would like to use persistent DK, and US / Russian keyboard layouts. If that is impossible, switching from DK and US is mandatory for me. Even converting the system to a DK keyboard has proved daunting.
Sorry, @globetrotterdk, I am late. This is my XCompose file, although I doubt it will be clear and useful for you. All the lines starting by # sign are comments only. ## means a changed, non-default value. I have also made a separate small cheat-sheet of default accent xkeymap for myself.
I have RPI 3 with LibreELEC 7.95.3 and I faced with problem - not able to switch language for typing text from HW keyboard.
In interface settings i have already added different keyboard layouts and i am able to switch typing text on Virtual keyboard but HW USB keyboard continues using English language.
Also i noticed that on my LibreELEC setting there is only one keyboard variant, see photo 20170213_101758_1.jpg in attachments. But on screenshot from LibreELEC wiki (LE-settings-system.png) there are more keyboard settings (two variants of keyboard layout.
AFAIK there is no way to use external keyboard with national characters (like nordic chars: ), it's US layout only.
These still appear on the OSC, but not handled by physical keyboard.
This seems to apply to all Raspberry versions, regardless of OpenElec/LibreElec settings.
I'm trying to change the keyboard language from english to russion because my team decided to prevent user type on a textbox before he changes the language to russian. I'm trying to test this feature using katalon and Selenium but I'm not able to change the keyboard inputs language to russian.
c) Use the following .NET static method to get the current input language. Please note that if you change your input method/keyboard this will only show the correct answer if you close and reopen your PS console/ISE window. I believe this is because a threads input language is based upon your current one when you start it, there are some applications that do perform automatic detection of input language though (e.g. Word)
However I also noticed that the Handle ID always appears to be consistent with the input language, so if you dont mind hard-coding the values in you could just have a switch statement that determines the correct input language keyboard layout, for example:
It;s easy. Just get some russian keyboard stickers. Apply them to your keyboard (I like the transparent ones). Then set your keyboard to toggle between english and russian. In windows it is in settings under time and language. Select Russian and you will be able to switch languages with a single click. I now no longer need the keyboard stickers and they have mostly worn off. I also learned to handwrite in Cyrillic.

I switch between english and russian keyboards often. To help you in the beginning you may want to apply russian keyboard stickers. As you get more proficient, you will be less reliant on the stickers.
To add a keyboard for Russian language input, begin by opening the System Preferences app from the Apple Menu at the top-left of the screen, or from the application launcher ("dock") at the bottom of the screen.
In the Keyboard panel, select the "Input Sources" tab to see a list of current language keyboards. At the bottom of the Input Sources screen, select the "+" button to add an additional keyboard setting.
In the dialog window that opens, select the Russian language from the list of languages on the left, and then select the "Russian - Phonetic" keyboard, and then click add. We recommend the phonetic version of the keyboard, as this setting maps Cyrillic letters to the closest-sounding Roman-letter equivalents. (If you are familiar with the Russian keyboard as it is used in Russia and other Russian-speaking countries, and if you know its layout by memory, you may wish to add the "Russian" or "Russian - PC" keyboard instead of the "Russian - Phonetic" keyboard). Finally, click "Add" to close the dialog window.
When ready to use the Russian keyboard setting, you will be able to switch back-and-forth between Roman and Cyrillic keyboards by using the Input Menu, identified by a small flag in the menu bar at the top of the screen.
The "Russian - Phonetic" keyboard setting makes Cyrillic letters available where they approximately match the sounds of the corresponding letters of a standard U.S. 'QWERTY' keyboard. For guidance finding the appropriate keyboard keys, select the option "Show Keyboard Viewer" from the Input Menu at the top of the screen. For the phonetic keyboard, it should show a helpful key map as shown below.
My locales and interface are set to Russian. It happens when I create new document (by default text language is set to Russian) and start typing. As soon as I switch keyboard to English (or any latinic layout) and type something in English (or any other language, where apostrophe is needed, it is needed even in Russian sometimes), apostrophe gets replaced by quote. But switching text language to English helps, it stops replacing letters, but what if I need this symbol in Russian language? change text language for this particular symbol?
