We have been using cauliflower vest successfully on High Sierra for the past 6 months or so, but when trying to deploy a brand new MBP today a new error popped up.

/usr/local/cauliflowervest/cauliflowervest

E0808 14:52:27.662921 140735633425280 tkinter.py:122] 'GuiOauth' object has no attribute 'input_pass'

Traceback (most recent call last):

  File "/System/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.7/lib/python2.7/lib-tk/Tkinter.py", line 1536, in __call__

    return self.func(*args)

  File "/usr/local/cauliflowervest/cauliflowervest/__main__/cauliflowervest/client/mac/tkinter.py", line 208, in _EncryptedVolumeAction

    passwd = self.input_pass.get()

AttributeError: 'GuiOauth' object has no attribute 'input_pass'

The machine is a 2018 MBP running 10.13.6 and we have had plenty of machines on 10.13.6 run CV just fine.
Ive restored the machine to make sure nothing in the installation went incorrectly, as well as removing all CV packages and reinstalling.

Any help would be appreciated!

Best,

John

Which action were you trying to run?
Was volume already encrypted?

When trying to run the escrow for the first time that error is thrown. The machine does not have the encryption turned on.
 It may be worth noting that while troubleshooting this if I run $fdesetup status I initially got "deferred enablement appears to be active for user" (attached image of similar output) But after a reboot this went away.

Confirmed this is happening on multiple 2018 machines but not any machines pre-T2 chip. Could that be playing into this?

Can you rebuild client with recent changes (https://github.com/google/cauliflowervest/commit/3f46afeff9fc819d456230094a7c5af1059d5efa) and try again?
