Subject: [chinadebate] Invitation to Debate and Public Speaking Trainer's Training and Seminar April 28/29, at 2nd High School Affiliated to Beijing Normal University
Dear all,
I am happy to announce that on April 28 and 29, as part of the EU Youth In Action Program of "Discuss, Debate and Change", we will be organizing a two-day training session for Debate and Public Speaking trainers/coaches. The training will be led by:
Madam Piyanart, Thailand: Renowned Debate and Public Speaking coach in Thailand and Asia, Debate Coach of Chulalongkorn University, Mother of Thai Debating
Thepparith Senamgern (TJ), Thailand: Asian Representative in WUDC Council, One of the most successful and creative debate coach in Asia
Virginija Paksiene, Lithuania: Director of Educational Debate Center. Virginija has been promoting debate for more than 15 years in Lithuania, and is Head Coach of Lithuanian Team to World Schools Debate Championshops. She has extensive experience in Debate and Public Speaking coaching and promotion.
Anja Serc, Slovenia: Anja was a debater, and a debate promoter now. She is Assistant Coach of Slovenian Team to World Schools Debate Championships.
Jernej Podgornik, Slovenia: Jernej is coach of one of Slovenia's biggest High School Debate Club
We have planned to program to make it interesting for all of you who want to participate, we aim to make it a valuable event for:
1) Debate Coaches/Debate Program Administrators
2) Debate Club Organizers/Leaders
3) Debaters who plans to start coaching
4) Debater who aim to promote debating
The program will include some lectures and much panel discussions. We hope it would be a "clinic" for people to discuss problems they met and a "platform" to share debate coaching experiences.
Tentative schedule of the event is:
Apr 28:
Morning (9am - 12pm):
Presentation: Value of Debate and Public Speaking activities for students
Panel Discussion: How to Organize Debate Activities
Lunch (12pm - 1:30pm)
Afternoon (1:30pm - 5pm)
Presentation: Public Speaking and Debate, how to make them integral part of Students' Learning Process
Panel Discussion: Using Debate and Public Speaking to build a diverse pool of student activities
Apr 29:
Morning (9am - 12pm):
Presentation: Participating in International Debate and Public Speaking Events
Panel Discussion: Planning and Budgeting for going to International Debate and Public Speaking Events
Lunch (12pm - 1:30pm)
Afternoon (1:30pm - 5pm)
Presentation: Coaching Debates and Organizing Debate Clubs
Panel Discussion: Debate/Public-Speaking Drills and Exercises for Effective Debate Training

There is NO Registration Fee for the training. However, Lunch is not provided by the host. Thus, you should pay for your own lunch.
