Dear buddy,
Its been one year since the Delhi gang rape case happened. It is next to impossible to imagine what the brave-heart went through. But I believe we all can do something to ensure these incidences stop.
As a support to all the victims of sexual assaults and to ensure that our society gets more aware of the rampant cases and legal frameworks get stronger, I have decided to start a blog/website in which I will require your participation.
If you have been a victim of sexual violence of any form from anyone and willing to share your experience, it would be a contribution to this movement which I plan to call 'Meri Kahanee- my story'.
All I am looking for is 300 plus words on your experience/what you felt/did you get any help/was the person punished/what has it left you feeling today. Sharing your experience will be a contribution. I have few editors on board who will re-phrase the story and run it through you before we publish it.
Along with your story I would love to get a picture OR a doodle OR any graphic OR even a poem OR any visual photo from the internet that best shows your state of mind with relation to the incident.
Whether you would want to disclose your name is your choice, but it would be nice if you could state your age/place/social and economic background when the incident occurred.
My mission is to compile all these stories- and put them on a blog- and create a movement to create awareness, make representations to people in the govt..... please do share ideas on this one?
But as a start please send me this. Lets get going.
lets move towards a more healthier and safer society,
Sayli Udas-Mankikar
PLEASE FORWARD THIS TO AS MANY WOMEN TO BUILD THIS MOVEMENT
