Security is probably the most important issue when it comes to using computers. Whether you browse the web, check email, or store sensitive data on your hard drive, you need to be protected from any possible threat. Steganos Privacy Suite is an essential suite for everyone, from the security paranoid to those who use the same, simple password for multiple logins. Steganos Privacy Suite includes a varied selection of security tools that you can manage your passwords with, protect confidential emails through encryption, erase computer usage traces completely, and destroy sensitive files, just to name a few features.

A very reasonably priced security suite comprising a top-notch password manager and encrypted file safe. The ability to hide one file (or a whole safe) within another is a great addition, and the option to save keychains and safes to the cloud makes it incredibly convenient. Highly recommended.

Steganos Privacy Suite (v.12) is a suite offering most Steganos privacy and encryption products bundled up together: Safe, Portable Safe, Crypt & Hide, Password Manager, Private Favorites, E-Mail Encryption, Trace Destructor and Shredder.

Password Manager
The suite's password manager has most of the expected features, though its implementation isn't as smooth as some. You start by setting up a profile and defining a master password to protect all of your stored data. Like the safe component, the password manager lets you move the password to a USB drive, with an option to automatically unlock and lock the password database when the drive is inserted and removed. You can also set it to lock after a period of inactivity.

For secure transmission of information to others, you can invoke the suite's e-mail encryption feature. It will encrypt your message and any attachments, save the result as a self-decrypting executable file, and send it using your default e-mail client. If you rely on Web-based mail, you can instead save the encrypted message to disk and send it manually. Once your correspondent launches the file and supplies the password, it displays your message and provides access to any attachments. Note, though, that e-mail security policies often strip out executable attachments.

Uneven Performance
This suite is just bursting with privacy-related tools, but it has a number of visible problems. The help system lapses into German at times, for example, and the toolbar in Internet Explorer offers to "Start Passwort Manager." Steganos confirms that in the product, as reviewed, the form-filling feature doesn't work at all and the private favorites feature doesn't work correctly. The password manager has most of the expected features but it's significantly awkward compared to the best standalone products.

On the plus side, the suite's handling of internal passwords is consistent and unusually well thought-out. Its implementation of secure "safe" drives and file encryption is impressive, as are its trace destructor and shredder modules. If you're looking for a password manager, the free LastPass will serve you better. But if you need protection for your private data, you'll definitely get it from this suite.

The suite includes fully functional instances of Steganos Safe, which costs $34.99 as a standalone, and Steganos Password Manager, which goes for $24.99. Buying the suite instead saves you about $10, presuming you wanted to purchase both products. On the other hand, buying Steganos Safe alone, without the unimpressive password manager, saves you $25.

Some years ago, this suite included the Steganos Online Shield VPN. This product currently costs $49.99 per year as a standalone, so it's understandable the company decided not to give it away with the suite, which goes for a one-time price of $49.99. In any case, when PCMag's VPN expert Max Eddy reviewed an earlier edition, he rated it just two stars.

Abine Blur Premium is another suite of tools aimed at protecting your privacy. Its active Do Not Track (DNT) component goes way beyond just sending the DNT header, which websites can ignore. Furthermore, unlike what Steganos used to do, it makes its DNT activity visible. It includes a simple password manager that goes beyond Steganos in many ways, including a safety report that flags weak and duplicate passwords.

Blur doesn't block ads, and it doesn't include file encryption, but its components are all directly aimed at protecting your privacy. Even if you do install the Steganos suite, consider trying Blur's free edition for additional protection. Note that the $39-per-year premium subscription lets you use Blur on all your devices.

You may also find that you've already got significant privacy protection courtesy of your security suite. For example, Kaspersky Internet Security and Bitdefender Antivirus Plus include an active Do Not Track system, like what Blur offers, and Kaspersky can block banner ads. Webcam protection in Bitdefender, Kaspersky and ESET goes farther than what you used to get with Steganos.

Password management is becoming a common bonus feature in larger suites. McAfee comes with all the multi-factor authentication glory of True Key. Norton 360 Deluxe, Trend Micro, ESET, Kaspersky, and Bitdefender are among the other suites with a password manager built right in.

Steganos Safe is the best part of Steganos Privacy Suite. It offers multiple locations for encrypted file safes, along with the ability to convert a whole partition to a safe. It can also conceal the very existence of a safe, and it supports two-factor authentication. Steganos Password Manager covers basic password tasks, but it had trouble capturing common websites that competing products handle with ease. The remaining privacy components that used to round out this suite are simply gone. That being the case, there's no reason to buy this suite. If you want Steganos encryption, just get Steganos Safe.

When the IBM PC was new, I served as the president of the San Francisco PC User Group for three years. That’s how I met PCMag’s editorial team, who brought me on board in 1986. In the years since that fateful meeting, I’ve become PCMag’s expert on security, privacy, and identity protection, putting antivirus tools, security suites, and all kinds of security software through their paces.

Most security and privacy products evolve over time, adding new features or enhancing features they’ve already got. It’s a little sad when, instead, a product dwindles from a full suite of tools down to a simple bundle, but that’s just what has happened to Steganos Privacy Suite. With all other privacy features gone, it’s currently just a bundle of the Steganos Safe encryption tool and Steganos Password Manager, and the password manager component is weak. Only the file encryption component is worth your attention.

The German Steganos company has been around since 1997, and has offered a security suite with password management features for most of that period. It releases a new version almost every year, but its features have not kept up with other password managers. In this Steganos Password Manager review, we outline how it succeeds and where it falls short.

Steganos Privacy Suite Crack is a comprehensive software package designed to help users protect their digital privacy and secure sensitive data. The suite includes various tools that allow users to encrypt their files and folders, password-protect their data, and hide their online activity from prying eyes.

Another important feature of Steganos Privacy Suite is its ability to hide online activity using a virtual private network (VPN). The suite includes a VPN client that allows users to connect to servers in different locations worldwide, making it difficult for anyone to track their online activity. This is particularly important for users who want to browse the internet anonymously or access restricted content.

Steganos Privacy Suite 11 can be thought of as a program that contains multiple other programs, i.e. a suite of programs. Taking a quick look at Steganos Privacy Suite 11, it has the following capabilities:
