MUSIC THIS WEDNESDAY

This week, we not only feature a *brand new* band, but also one headed
by one of our own Swing/Lindy Hop/Balboa dancers, Rich Werden! The
Rhythm Roustabouts are a group of musicians who know that your Jazz
should be hot and your Swing hard-hitting. The band celebrates the
Swing music of the 1920s and 30s that erupted in New Orleans and
Harlem and inspired a nation to invent its own original dance forms. I
couldn't stop dancing to their music at Boogie by the Bay this past
October; we hope you'll come out this week to enjoy them too!

Hometown favorite DJ Autumn LaVarta shares the DJ booth this week with
guest DJ Jen Sowden visiting from NYC! Autumn will take the early sets
of the evening, playing great classic swing & eclectic selections
while Jen will spin a bluesier set for late night as we turn the
lights low and let you get your groove on!

Our next 4 weeks session of Lindy Hop classes starts on Wednesday,
January 5. Classes are filling up quick, and January is always a sell-
out month, so please sign up soon if you want to ensure your spot in
class!

These progressive format Lindy Hop classes will help you improve your
dance skills by reviewing and building upon previous material each
week:

6:30pm Beginning Lindy Hop
7:30pm Intermediate Lindy Hop

No partner needed! Beginners welcome! 20 students max/class.

Just starting out? Can't commit to the whole month? Our 8:30pm
Beginning Swing Drop-in Class is a great option!

We start from scratch each week, and introduce fun and often goofy
steps to help you get dancing right before the band starts. $10 cost
includes dance party admission!

DANCE THE JITTERBUG STROLL AT THE BAND BREAK

Our Intermediate Lindy Hop students have spent part of the month
learning the Jitterbug Stroll swing line dance. Christine and I will
lead the class through a little performance of sorts during the band
break...and you're welcome to come dance it with us if you know it!
