December Lindy Classes Start + Regina Pontillo's Swingtime Band

Dear Cat's Corner Guests,

Thank you so much to everyone who came out last Wednesday to kick-off
the Thanksgiving Day weekend with us! The music was fantastic, dancing
was fun, and there was just a sort of warm spirit among all our
friends gathered to enjoy themselves; Christine and I look forward to
sharing more of that spirit with you throughout the holiday season at
Cat's Corner!

DECEMBER LINDY HOP CLASSES FILLING UP

Please remember to register online for our December Lindy Hop classes
-- save $10 by signing up by midnight tonight! December will be a full
5-week session of classes, and they are filling up surprisingly fast:

6:30pm Beginning Lindy Hop (4 leader & 4 follower spots remain)
7:30pm Intermediate Lindy Hop (6 leader & 6 follower spots remain)

20 students max/class. No partner needed! Beginners welcome in the
6:30pm class!
$65 early registration by Nov. 29. $75 full price. $20 drop-in. Cost
includes dance party admission (a $50 value!)

Just starting out? Can't make the Lindy classes? Join us at 8:30pm for
our Beginning Swing Drop-in Lesson! We start from scratch each week,
teaching fun and often goofy dance steps to get you moving and
grooving before the band starts. $10 cost includes party admission!

MUSIC THIS WEDNESDAY

Regina Pontillo brings her Fantastic Swingtime Band to Cat's Corner.
Her sweet and sometime ethereal vocals are a great complement to her
backing combo of musicians, led by pianist Si Perkoff. A dancer at
heart herself, Regina has been picking out and developing fun new
music for us to enjoy on the dance floor!

Roy Rydbeck mans our DJ booth this week. After spending several years
dancing and DJing in Tampa & Chicago, Roy returned to San Francisco,
where he started dancing. He frequently DJs at the 9:20 Special, Rent
Party & Friday Night Blues, and has been featured at many national
dance events. He likes to mix a variety of swinging music styles, and
with a predisposition toward groove, swinging blues, Big Band, and
pre-45 small jazz combo's.

Did you know that if you arrive by 9pm, dance admission is only $5?
Now you do. It's a great way to hang on to an extra bit of cash...long
enough to by a drink at the bar ;)

HOLIDAY FESTIVITIES

Christine and I are putting together ideas for our Cat's Corner
Holiday Party, most likely on December 22 or 29. If you would like to
volunteer to help us plan and coordinate the party(s), please email us
at in...@catscornersf.com. Needless to say, everyone looked so great at
our past dress up nights, that we will invite everyone to dress-to-
impress again -- in red, white & green!
