Dear Cat's Corner Friends,

THIS WEEK'S MUSIC

This week, we welcome the Fil Lorenz Orchestra, a star-studded "little
BIG band" that bridges the gap between the classic big bands of the
1930's and the smaller, lighter groovin' bands of the 1950's. Band
leader & saxophonist Fil Lorenz leads a tight horn ensemble that packs
a bold punch, while also channeling a sweet and classy sound. Backed
by a driving rhythm section on piano/bass/drums, the band plays
classic renditions of our favorite big band swing dance tunes...a pure
delight for dancing!

Mr. Leo King is one of our newest up-and-coming DJs at Cat's Corner.
We're glad to have him back this week, spinning tunes during our band
break and after party. Come dance, hang out with friends, and enjoy
cocktails at the bar!

LINDY HOP CLASS NEWS

Our 6:30pm Beginning Lindy Hop & 7:30pm Intermediate Lindy Hop class
started last week. We still need a few more Beginning Leaders and we
have spots for both leaders & followers in the Intermediate Lindy Hop
class. We'll review last week's material this Wednesday, so it's not
too late to join. If interested, please email nat...@catscornersf.com.

(BTW: We are working on classic 1930's/40s Savoy Lindy Hop styling in
the Intermediate Lindy Class, and I have to say that those swing outs
looked amazing this last week!)

THANKSGIVING WEEK MUSIC HEADS UP!

Here's another reminder to mark November 24 on your calendar...that's
the night that PeeWee Ellis, renowned saxophonist & band leader for
both James Brown & Van Morrison, will grace our stage as a guest
musician with the SF Medicine Ball Band! Last year, the MBB & Mr.
Ellis played some electrifying shows for us. Make sure you're there to
enjoy the pre-Thanksgiving festivities with us!

NEW TO SWING? WE HAVE YOU COVERED!

Join our 8:30pm Beginning Swing Drop-in Lesson for a fun introduction
to swing dancing. We start from scratch each week, covering the basics
as well as fun beginner steps to get you moving and grooving with a
partner -- just in time to enjoy the live music dance party!

$10 cost includes dance party admission! Beginners welcome...and no
partner needed!
