Dear Cat's Corner Friends,

Get in the celebratory mood this Wednesday, December 22, as Cat's
Corner puts on its Winter Holiday Party featuring the California
Honeydrops!

We've got several special activities in which to participate:

DRESS TO IMPRESS IN RED, WHITE & GREEN (required)

...because the first part of getting into the holiday spirit is
dressing the part! Dress shirts, slacks, jackets & dresses highly
recommended...antlers, elf hats, and other winter-themed accessories
also very welcome :)

SANTA CLAUS & $5 HOLIDAY GIFT EXCHANGE (optional)

Give a gift, receive a gift! If you'd like to participate in our
optional gift exchange, please bring a wrapped gift valued $5 or less
and drop it off when you arrive at Cat's Corner. Santa Claus will take
a few minutes out of his busy schedule to help us distribute gifts
during our band break (10-10:30pm).

HOLIDAY COOKIE BAKE-OFF CONTEST (optional)

Top Prize: One Whole Year of FREE Cat's Corner Dance Admission (a $520
value!) + a drink at the bar
2 Runners-Up: One Month of free Cats' Corner Dance Admission + a drink
at the bar

Contestants should bring a plate of at least 1 dozen (12) cookies to
enter. 5 cookies will be reserved for our judges, while the remainder
are sure to be snapped up by our party guests. Cookie entries only: to
be fair, cakes, cupcakes, brownies and other sweets will not be
judged. You can certainly bring non-cookie confections to share with
our guests -- but they will not qualify for the contest.

Judging: 5 members of the band, the California Honeydrops, will
evaluate the cookies and select winners based on taste, texture,
appearance & creativity.

MUSIC THIS WEDNESDAY

One of our favorite, swinging-est and soulful-est bands is back in
town: the California Honeydrops! Digging deep into the roots of
American music, The California Honeydrops embrace the traditions of
Swing, Blues, Gospel, Second Line New Orleans Jazz, and early R&B.
With stellar performances of traditional material as well as their own
innovative music, The California Honeydrops get people out of their
seats and onto the floor, dancing and singing along. They recently won
the 2009 SF Weekly Award for Best R&B/Soul Band, and have sold out
shows at Yoshi's in SF, Lindy Groove in LA and are even developing a
bit of an international following after a recent tour in Poland! The
band also moonlights under the name The Jellyroll Souls when they play
for swing dance audiences...

DJ Leo King has been joining us for the past several months, and we're
glad to have him back in the DJ booth this week, spinning tunes during
our band break and after party. Come dance, hang out with friends, and
enjoy cocktails at the bar!

JANUARY LINDY HOP CLASSES -- SWING DANCE INTO THE NEW YEAR!!!

Resolve to join us in one of our fun and ever-popular swing and lindy
hop dance classes! January is traditionally a big month for new
student enrollment, so we recommend registering online as soon as
possible to save your spot in class!

Wednesday Swing & Lindy Hop Classes with Nathan & Christine

6:30pm Beginning Lindy Hop (4-week series, $55 early registration)
7:30pm Intermediate Lindy Hop (4-week series, $55 early registration)
