Dear Cat's Corner Friends,

Cat's Corner *IS* open this Wednesday, and we've got a special pre-
Thanksgiving Day band treat! With no work the next day, we hope you'll
stop by to dance and party with us! Please *Dress to Impress* -- in
brown, orange and red!

THIS WEEK'S MUSIC

Renowned for its danceable, fun and smile-inducing grooves, The San
Francisco Medicine Ball rolls towards its 39th year, picking up fans
from all walks of life: Swing, New Orleans R&B, Jazz Standards,
Motown, Dixieland and more. Guitarist David Sturdevant leads a
talented group of musicians that this week includes legendary
saxophonist Pee Wee Ellis!

Mr. Ellis has been playing with the Medicine Ball Band since the early
80's, and is well-known as bandleader and arranger for James Brown &
Van Morrison. As James Brown's bandleader, Pee Wee wrote the music for
26 of his hits including "Cold Sweat", widely considered the first
ever Funk tune, and "Say It Loud, I'm Black & I'm Proud", "Licking
Stick-Licking Stick,", "Funky Drummer" and "Mother Popcorn." Pee Wee
played several show-stopping sets with the MBB last year, and we look
forward to more fun licks and riffs from him this week!

DJ Autumn LaVarta, our favorite end-of-the-month DJ returns to the
booth to spin great classic swing tunes during the band break and
after party!
