Dear Cats Corner Friends,

Thanks to everyone who came out last week to celebrate my birthday
last week! Congrats to Ginevra Altomara & Michael Dediu who won our
Spring Fling Dress-to-Impress contest...they each receive free dance
party admission to Cats Corner for 1 year!

MUSIC THIS WEEK

This Wednesday, swing the night away to the music of the Fil Lorenz
Orchestra, the star-studded "little BIG band" that bridges the gap
between the classic big bands of the 1930's and the smaller, lighter
groovin' bands of the 1950's. Band leader & saxophonist Fil Lorenz
leads a tight horn ensemble that packs a bold punch, while also
channeling a sweet and classy sound. Backed by a driving rhythm
section on piano/bass/drums, the band plays classic renditions of our
favorite big band swing dance tunes...a dancer's delight!

DJ Roy Rydbeck spins during the band break this week. After spending
several years dancing and DJing in Tampa & Chicago, Roy returned to
San Francisco, where he started dancing. He frequently DJs at the 9:20
Special, Rent Party & Friday Night Blues, and has been featured at
many national dance events. He likes to mix a variety of swinging
music styles, with a predisposition toward groove, swinging blues, Big
Band, and pre-45 small jazz combo's.

LEADERS NEEDED FOR BEGINNING LINDY HOP

We're still looking for a few more leaders to join our 6:30pm
Beginning Lindy Hop class. We'll review what we covered last week
(side-by-side charleston), so there's still a chance to catch up. The
drop-in price is $20/week, but we are happy to extend the $55 monthly
discount price to leaders who'd like to join for the remaining 3

8:30PM DROP-IN SWING CLASS WELCOMES BEGINNERS & ALL AGES

Our fun and zany Drop-in Swing Class at 8:30pm ($10) is a great way to
learn how to dance...and to meet a lot of interesting people.
Christine and I love to share our favorite silly steps from the 1920s
- 40s...and it's pretty amazing what we get through in just about 30
minutes. Beginners & all ages welcome! No partner needed...we rotate
frequently in class!
