Avoiding Duplicates in Search

I am having constant duplicates showing up when doing a search with query="". How can I do a full search without getting duplicates? I want to use the search so I can have filters, but what I really want it just a list (but there's 28k activities so using the /activities endpoint would be too difficult without filters)
