Hi everyone! I’m Adhish Gupta, a Unity developer exploring the AR Gravity & Planetary Physics Simulator project for GSoC 2026.
I’m planning to focus my proposal on this project and had a few questions to better align with expectations.
My current approach is to build a Unity-based N-body simulation using AR Foundation for real-world placement, starting with a simple numerical integrator and then optimizing for stability and mobile performance.
I wanted to ask: - Are there any expected limits on the number of bodies or performance targets for mobile devices? - Should the emphasis be more on physical accuracy or interactive/educational visualization? - Are there any preferred approaches for handling scale (since real-world distances and masses are very large)? - Would features like orbit prediction and force visualization be considered important for the final outcome?
I’m also planning to build a small prototype to validate the physics and AR interaction soon.
