Hello Everyone,

I am Anurag Rai, a Computer Science undergraduate from BMSIT&M, Bangalore, India. I came across the GSoC idea list and am very interested in "Upgradation of AR-Based Interactive and Procedural Marine Ecosystem Simulation."

I have hands-on experience with Unity URP, Vuforia, C#, ShaderLab/HLSL, and WebAR frameworks (MindAR.js, A-Frame), and have had the chance to learn and build marker-based AR applications including an aerodynamics simulator with custom particle systems and shaders.
The performance optimization, procedural ecosystem behavior, and Firebase/cloud infrastructure aspects of the project align well with my current skill set and the direction I am actively growing in.

Looking forward to actively contributing to the Catrobat community!

Best Regards,
Anurag Rai

Hello everyone,

I wanted to follow up on my previous message. After carefully going through the project ideas and discussing them with the mentors, I’ve decided to shift my focus and draft my proposal for the following topic: "Extension of Sandbox Toolkit for simplifying the Development of Marine-based AR Modules."

The reason for this change is that I find the challenge of "tooling" incredibly motivating. As someone who runs an AR/VR Hub, I’ve seen firsthand how the gap between powerful technology and non-technical educators often prevents great ideas from reaching the classroom. I am excited about the opportunity to turn the mARine platform from a "developer demo" into a scalable, user-friendly Sandbox Toolkit that any educator can own.

I’m also happy to share that I have successfully completed the entry task for this project. Working through the codebase has already given me a clear vision of how to evolve the current Module Builder into a standalone, distributable Unity package.

I’m looking forward to sharing my full proposal soon and contributing further to the Catrobat community!

Best regards,

Anurag Rai
