Grade 12 Prelims Update

Kindly take note of the following important arrangements regarding the
Gr 12 Trial Exams



1. At a meeting this morning the executive management of the
department decided that the Gr 12 Trial Exams should be conducted as
planned.

2. Given the notice by the SAOU and NAPTOSA that they will also
participate in the industrial action, the Eastern Cape Department of
Education decided to reschedule exam papers time-tabled for the first
week of exams (24 – 27 August). The amended time table shall extend
from 30 August – 23 September 2010.

3. Principals should spend this week collaborating with SGBs,
parents, etc to ensure volunteers for invigilation next week.

4. A meeting is currently underway for the drafting of an
assessment instruction with the revised time table.

5. There will also be a press release this afternoon.

6. The above-mentioned documents are likely to be available this
afternoon and will be distributed to you.
