Dear Parents,

The Regional Achievement Test (RAT) has been tentatively scheduled by DepEd on March 4, 2011.  Venue to be announced.

Based on last year's Division Memorandum from DepEd, the RAT has the following objectives:

1. To improve the achievement rate of the private elementary school pupils in all the learning areas;
2. To identify the learners' strengths and weaknesses in all the learning areas;
3. To evaluate the effectiveness of the teaching and learning process in the different learning areas; and
4. To ensure that the competencies in th Basic Education Curriculum are covered and mastered by the pupils.

The subject areas to be covered are:

      Grades 1 & 2 - English  Mathematics, Filipino and Makabayan (Sibika & Kagandahang Asal)
      Grade 3 -  English  Mathematics, Filipino, Science and Makabayan (Sibika & Kagandahang Asal)
      Grades 4 - 6  -  English, Mathematics, Filipino, Science and Makabayan (HeKaSi, Musika, Sining, at HELE)

Basically, it will cover the lessons taken up during the whole year. Just review your children on the basic concepts of each subject.
Even if the results of the tests will not, in any way, affect your children's grades, let us continue to encourage them to strive for excellence.

There will be proctors to assist your children if they have any questions.  Please tell them not to hesitate to ask for assistance.

Attached please find the pointers for review for the RAT. These were based on last year's RAT. As such, test questions may be different from last year's.

God bless!
