We hope this letter finds you in the best of conditions, in all aspects. We are sure our good Lord is blessing you and your family, especially as you journey through homeschooling your children.
We are pleased to inform you that we are relaunching our CFA newsletter, with the new title "Home Base." Please refer to the first issue e-mailed to you last September 12, 2012.
Our target is for the newsletter to come out twice a month, i.e. on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month. For your information, the different departments for each issue will include:
a. News from the Homefront — Featuring reports on recent events in the CFA community
b. Homeschooling 101: Tips and Tricks for Homeschooling Families — Featuring articles on how to be better in homeschooling and other relevant topics for homeschooling families
c. Stories from Home — Featuring testimonies from CFA parents and kids
d. Kids Got Talent — Featuring submissions from CFA kids (poems, artwork, stories, etc.)
e. Homeschool Help — Featuring helpful resources like websites, enrichment programs, etc.
In line with this, we would like to seek your help in gathering contributions. If you, your children and/or fellow parents and families have anything to share, please do forward your submissions to Tina Santiago-Rodriguez, the managing editor of Home Base through
home...@catholicfilipinoacademy.com.
Pls. take note that the deadline of submission of contributions is on every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month, so that there is ample time for editing and layout of the articles and/or photos.
For the second issue of the newsletter, which is due to be out next Wednesday, September 26, we can accept submissions until Sunday evening, September 23. These are the particular items we would need for next week's issue:
a. News from the Homefront — Featuring reports on recent events in the CFA community
- We need someone to submit articles on recent activities, e.g. the Mind Museum field trip and Sept 12 Parenting Workshop with Vic and Ditas Espanol.
b. Stories from Home — Featuring testimonies from CFA parents and kids
- The theme for the next issue's testimonies will be: "How God has blessed our family through homeschooling." May we invite you and/or your children to submit your sharings? The word count for this is 300-500 words. As much as possible, please submit a high resolution photo of you and your family to accompany your testimony. :)
c. Kids Got Talent — Featuring submissions from CFA kids (poems, artwork, stories, etc.)
- So far, one parent has submitted a piece of artwork done by her kid. :) We could accept 2-3 more siguro for the upcoming issue — poems, short stories, etc. are most welcome. :)
Please take note that not all of your submissions may be included in the next issue. All submissions will be subject to due editorial process and will be approved and finalized for inclusion by our editorial board. :) We hope you understand.
God bless us all.
In Christ's service,
Tina Santiago-Rodriguez
