Ladies & Gentlemen:

On Saturday, March 21, 2015, at 12:00 noon, we are sponsoring a Rosary Crusade for Traditional Marriage at the Kenwood Town Center.  The Crusade will be held just across the street from the Kenwood Movie Theaters at the west entrance to the Town Center, at 7815 Kenwood Road.  Will you please join us on March 21st at 12:00 noon, rain or shine, for just 45 minutes to peacefully pray the Rosary and the Litany to St. Joseph and to stand up for traditional marriage in our country?

Some 1,500 Rosary Crusades for Traditional Marriage, such as the one we are sponsoring, are being coordinated by The American TFP (www.tfp.org) throughout the country on March 21st, the Saturday closest to the Feast Day of St. Joseph.  St. Joseph is the protector of the Holy Family, and by extension, all families.  We decided to sponsor the Crusade at the Kenwood Town Center again this year because this is one of the busiest shopping destination in the Cincinnati metro area, with a diversity of patrons coming from throughout the metro area.  We will therefore have excellent visibility for the Crusade and will be able to convey a message of support for Traditional Marriage to an extremely diverse audience.

We have provided posters to help promote this Crusade and encourage you to duplicate them and post them at your parishes, after coordination with your pastor.  The best assistance that you could provide, in addition to attending the Rosary Crusade yourself, would be to forward this e-mail to family and friends and to personally call them and encourage them to join you in supporting this Crusade, or to sponsor their own Crusade Become a Rally Captain {Click on this link}.  We have also drafted a suggested bulletin notice that you could personally present to your pastor.

I am sure that you fully understand the consequences of this aspect of the ongoing cultural wars for the soul of America.  As you are aware, if we do not stand up for the defense of traditional marriage, then marriage as we know it will cease to exist.  And with the loss of traditional marriage, the accelerated destruction of the family will quickly become an accomplished fact. Many of you received copies of the attached e-mail immediately below advising of the petition in support of Traditional Marriage that is being circulated throughout the world and will be presented to Pope Francis later this year.  If you have not already signed this petition, we strongly encourage you to go on-line and do so.  We will have hard copies of the petition for signature at the Rosary Crusade.

For information purposes, as with previous Rosary Crusades for Traditional Marriage, we advised the Sycamore Township Administrative Offices and the Hamilton County Police Department of the Crusade which will be held on the public right-of-way (city sidewalk) along the Kenwood Road entrance to the Town Center.  Please e-mail us or if you prefer, you may call us at 513.793.5872, if you are able to join us for the St. Joseph Rosary Crusade for Traditional Marriage on March 21st at 12:00 noon.  Thank you.

Subject: A defining battle in a defining moment of history...

Ladies & Gentlemen,

A defining battle in a defining moment of history is now upon us.  In October 2015, the Roman Catholic Church will again convene a Synod on the family.  As you are aware, the 2014 Synod ended with an inconclusive stance on many critical issues, leaving much on the table for this fall, decisions that could go either way.

The continued existence of the family as defined by our Judeo-Christian heritage is very much at risk.  Will that family consist of same-sex couples?  Will divorced Catholics who are re-married outside the Church be allowed to receive Holy Communion?  Will homosexual couples be allowed to have their children Baptized in the Catholic Church when Baptism requires that children be raised according to Catholic teachings?  These are just a few of the issues that will be addressed by the Synod this fall.

This battle is literally a fight for the survival of our families, our nation, and the entire world.  It is a battle that desperately requires and needs your support and your participation.  This is indeed a defining battle at a defining moment of history, if not THE defining battle of our time.  Lest you think this could never happen or that this battle is not worth your efforts, recall the devastation of Roe v. Wade, just 42 years ago.  Who would not long for the opportunity to re-fight that battle?  The destruction of the family will be equally egregious, if not worse than the tragedy of the Supreme Court decision that has cost the loss of 50 million lives in this nation through surgical abortions.  The Supreme Court of the United States is poised to hear several lower-court state cases this June concerning same-sex unions.  The leanings of several of the judges have already been documented in the media in support of same sex unions.  The battle for marriage is therefore being fought on two fronts and is poised for defeat on both of these fronts.  And if these changes are made to the definition of marriage, what other teachings of Christ will be set aside?

The liberal left has a petition drive already under way to influence the Synod to approve of and sanction “alternative lifestyles” within the Church.   I’ve included a brief quote from their petition below, along with a list of the sponsors for their petition, should you have any doubt about their objectives.  Without your help with the petition encouraging Pope Francis to take a strong stance in favor of the family, and by also sending the petition to as many people as possible on your e-mail list, twitter, and  facebook, what will be the impact when the Synod convenes if the liberal viewpoint is all that is presented to Rome?  The recent news about Cardinal Burke’s books supporting traditional marriage being confiscated should help to emphasize that I am not overstating the seriousness of this battle, not the commitment of the liberal left to change the teachings of Christ and His Church.

It has been famously said that “lost causes are the only causes worth fighting for.”  While I do not believe this cause is lost, I do believe that the family as we know it is on the verge of becoming a lost cause  – unless we take immediate action.  This is THE defining battle at a defining moment of history.  What part will you play in the success or failure of this battle?

Please also consider joining us for a pro-family rally this March 21st at 12:00 noon on Kenwood Road at the Kenwood Town Center, just across the street from the Kenwood Theaters, per the attached poster above.

The on-line petition may be accessed immediately below.  This is followed by related web-sites hosting similar petitions or the results of petitions already being circulated in favor of the family.  A hard-copy of the petition may be secured from Mr. Robert Ritchie via the following e-mail address:  reri...@gmail.com  in the event you would like to secure individual signatures.  Please consider making copies of the petition and securing signatures wherever you have permission to do so.  This, in addition to e-mailing the attached to friends and family, will help to get the widest possible circulation of the petition.  There is no age limit for signing the petition.

Below are excerpts from a petition being circulated by the liberal left:

“…We urge the Vatican Synod office to make every effort to include a wide diversity of Catholics, especially those from the constituencies being discussed including divorced and remarried people, cohabitating couples, interfaith families, impoverished families, single parents, families with lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender members, same-sex couples, and families torn by the violence of war and abuse.  These women and men can share their lives and stories in a way that creates greater understanding among the bishops who will, in the end, make critical recommendations about the Church’s priorities and pastoral practices for years to come…”

We believe widening the circle will create greater understanding among the synod fathers whose final recommendations to Pope Francis may impact our Church's pastoral practice for years to come. This petition is sponsored by:
