STACK delivers power and performance from measurements to proposals. Work through takeoffs and estimates faster and with unmatched accuracy, and leverage intuitive tools to bid better and win more profitable work.
Stack was a significant upgrade to our takeoff process. The speed and being able to natively use it on Mac make this software great. The development team continues to add great features, some of which bring feature parity with competitors, but others are unique and now classified as "can't live without" around our office.
The ability to log in and pull up all of our project drawings on any computer. The fact that this software is web based is great and makes this platform agnostic. As we are primarily a Mac based office, this is great and does not require virtualization to run windows based software. Stack is also incredibly fast to navigate and bring up projects. Even though our older software was on computer and not web based, it required long waits to open a project and switch between projects. With stack this is almost instantaneous and it allows multiple projects to be open at once in multiple tabs or windows.
It still lacks some functionality of our previous takeoff software, especially when we first started using it. Much of that functionality has been added since we started using it, and there are a few additional items they currently show as in the pipeline. Once those are released, all of the features we need will be here.

STACK Construction Technologies, a Cincinnati, OH based company. providing takeoff and estimating software for construction subcontractors, general contractors, suppliers, and manufacturers. It offers a cloud-based platform enabling users to measure digital plans, collaborate with team members, customize materials and pricing, and finalize project estimates.
Stack provides SaaS-based takeoff and estimation software for the construction industry. The solution allows users to plan and estimate materials, equipment, and labor required for construction projects. Stack sells to SMBs in the construction industry, including trade contractors in verticals such as interior finishes, concrete & masonry, roofing, and landscaping. Takeoff software helps contractors estimate the list of materials and quantities required to complete a project. The list is generated from analysis of a blueprint or other design document. Estimation software helps contractors determine their bids for projects by factoring the cost of labor, materials, markups, etc. needed to complete the project.
By leveraging Billd Connect, Billd's suite of embedded financing apps, STACK will provide access to working capital solutions to their customers while they estimate the cost of upcoming projects. STACK's best-in-class software empowers contractors with accurate and customizable estimates, reducing the risk of underestimating costs and overextending resources. Meanwhile, Billd's material and invoice financing bridge the gap in subcontractor cash flow, reducing the risk of overextending working capital. By providing subcontractors with hyper-accurate takeoffs and estimates along with upfront funds for materials, joint customers can mitigate the uncertainties of payment cycles and bid with confidence.

STACK offers a suite of cloud-based construction software solutions include takeoff and estimating, project management and field productivity software. STACK is a single and centralized platform from which to manage construction bidding processes and manage the entire construction process.
Incorporating takeoff measurement and markup tools, smart estimation technology, reports, real-time collaboration, streamlined bidding and customization capabilities, STACK aims to provide users with an accurate and flexible takeoff and estimating solution. Designed to accommodate any trade, STACK operates easily for landscaping, roofing or concrete and masonry projects as well as for general construction projects.
I have used many takeoff programs and this program is the best bang for the buck. I really like that is saves your files to the cloud. You can access the files from anywhere with internet. The program is really easy to use.
STACK is a great solution for takeoffs - I previously used On Screen Takeoff which I really enjoyed using, but STACK offers a better user experience in my opinion. I am overall pleased with how the software works.
Organization of takeoffs could be improved. There is no undo button which sounds minimal but it can be extremely cumbersome at times. I also dislike that measurements can't be set to round to the nearest whole number - who honestly needs to measure down to a tenth of an inch shown in decimal format? These are really minor things in the overall user experience but annoying nonetheless. Overall I am very happy with Stack over alternative options for takeoff software.
Cleveland-based Bid Retriever is a bid management system that streamlines the bid invitation process, bid submittal and tracking, and would therefore give STACK Construction Technologies functionality upstream of its core takeoff and estimating software.
I am trying to calculate estimated flight time accurately. I calculate the distance with the great-circle distance method. I have some specifications of the aircraft such as max speed, cruise speed, stall speed, rate of climb, takeoff over 50ft, takeoff ground run, landing over 50ft, landing ground.
Bluebeam offers a standard Revu edition, one specialized for CAD users, and an edition that features both standard and CAD-focused capabilities. They also provide a Revu iPad version optimized for tablet users. Bluebeam Revu can also be tailored just for estimators with features focused on quantity takeoff, design review, document management, and quality control. It offers a 30-day free trial which small business owners recommend using before locking in. Revu end users state the following:
Bluebeam Revu pricing starts at $349 per user for its Standard Edition. Bluebeam is a great option for larger construction companies whose project portfolio is too large to be supported on free programs, and have complex projects that require additional automated tasks pertaining to takeoff and estimation to save project managers time. The ability to handle multiple different type of work estimations, and then switch to other tabs is made for those will more daily site reports, longer-term projects, and simply more team members and projects.
PlanSwift is a quantity takeoff software for construction. It provides a drag-and-drop interface that utilizes assembly templates for quantity counts and measurements. PlanSwift automatically calculates material and labor costs, and exports the information via built-in reports or as raw data to 3rd party software like Excel. The tool provides trade-specific features for general contractors, concrete, drywall, masonry, electrical, flooring, framing, HVAC, landscaping, painting, plumbing, and other specialties.
Free construction estimating software can be a great solution for small businesses needing a seriously low-cost option. However, you should consider investing in paid estimating software if you plan on significantly increasing the number of projects you tackle in a year, want to provide access to your software to additional users, or would like to utilize more advanced estimating features that automate routine work.
While any new program will require some adjustments, save yourself some frustration by investigating the design of a prospective estimating software to see if it is compatible with your needs and is user-friendly. An easy-to-use estimating software will help you to quickly and easily create accurate estimates, allowing you more time to work on other important tasks.
While most estimating software seems to promote the same basic idea, it can be tempting to just go with the cheapest option. However, many come equipped with special features that increase value and justify a higher cost.
The benefits of this joint collaboration include that subcontractors are able to identify the best jobs in PlanHub and then seamlessly transition the plans to STACK. Users can then perform fast, accurate takeoffs, create detailed estimates, and generate professional, branded proposals. Subcontractors can upload their bid-ready proposal to PlanHub and submit their bids.
